That would suck sooooo bad....especially if they just shut down. I would still be a fan if they moved...I wouldn't want it, but it wouldn't affect me any. If they did shut down, my new favorite team would probably be where ever Danny would end up.

This is concerning. I hope this doesn't unfold into a worst case scenario.

Let's just all forget all about this and pretend it isn't true. Maybe it will go away on it's own. :(

This was obvious. Stern called it out weeks ago, about how the Colts have a better deal than the Pacers do, and if the Pacers don't get the Colts deal, they are leaving.

It's clear. They either pay up, or the Pacers bolt. It's Hijacking, and that's what Stern does now (re:Seattle)

That's a lot of money if it's true. Obviously, the city and the Pacers are going to have to work out something different because even though the Simons are well-off, I don't think they are going to want to take anymore of this type of bombshell.

Stern is not making it a secret that he hates the Pacers, huh?

Does anybody else have one of those David Stern pins that is like a no smoking sign, but instead of a cigarette it's Stern's face? I am bring those back out, along with my pogs.

I can't talk or think about this rationally. If the Pacers left Indianapolis, I am forever done with the NBA.

It won't happen. 99% sure. If it did, it wouldn't be for years, but it just can't happen. We have an amazing arena that would be good for what? A couple concerts a month and Fever games? They will figure it out.

I think the situation is a little more serious than that.

I changed the title of the thread, I hope you don't mind M4E, just so people know exactly what you are talking about.

Pacers leaving Indy?

Post#19 » by PaceWalker » Wed Mar 11, 2009 2:42 pm

I have heard a lot of rumors lately about the possibility of the Pacers leaving Indiana. I saw that Bird thought it wouldn't happen and odds are around 20% right now.

What do you guys think the chances are of the Pacers leaving and what cities would be the most likely to be the new home for them?

The only city I can think of would be Seattle.

It wouldn't be Seattle, at least for a couple of years.
