OT:Clippers vs.Cavs

Post#1 » by MaxwellSmart » Wed Mar 11, 2009 5:07 am

Clippers BLOW a 19 point lead in the effffing 4th quarter--at home....WORSE than that Miami game last week----Totally GAVE the game away---just stopped playing all together....Cavs are either the team of destiny, or the NBA is Fixed....Clippers lead 73-54 with like 10 minutes to go---and just STOPPED even trying to go to the hoop----just STOPPED playing....very frustrating to watch the Cavs win ANOTHER game that was GIFT-WRAPPED to them---just like the ENTIRE season has been-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

That was one of the worst 4th quarter performances I have ever seen.

No hyperbole.

The Cavs didn't even play well. In fact, they were putrid for 40 minutes. They were down 19 and only started scoring after the Clips insisted on solely taking contested 18+ footers.

I am NOT a conspiracy theorist, and there was none here, but this game had the LOOK of a game that was fixed. Terrible shots, no rebounding, lazy pass. What I mean is, if the Clips had been paid to fix this game, they couldn't have looked any worse in the 4th quarter.

Dunleavy didn't call a single timeout as a 19 point lead evaporated over a 6 minute stretch. Nor, apparently, did he call a single play. He did nothing.

Yep----Dunleavy did NOTHING to get his team back on track.....it was like watching a bad scripted movie...in SLOW MOTION....efffing Kaman blew it himself.....geeeze---the Cavs needed ANOTHER game GIVEN to them.

The Cavs turned up the D and the Clippers are an inexperienced, young team with a collectively low basketball IQ. The Clippers were killing us in the interior for 3 quarters. In the 4th however, we packed the lane and put bodies on everyone and made them a jump shooting team.

Our backcourt couldn't hit anything until that final minute or so and those 2 threes (the only two threes we hit all game) were the difference. Well, that and Zach Randolph taking a 35 foot 3 pointer with a second left on the game clock.

I feel your pain and I watched the entire game. I just don't see where the we get to really bellyache about this. When we played the Clippers, we were sleep walking the entire game (I was there). I mean, completely brain dead. The Cavs did the same thing, but they made some shots at the end of the game. We didn't.

Ugliest game I've seen in a while. The Clippers should not be allowed to play professional basketball.

The Cavs made SOME shots?....they were down 73-54 with 10 minutes to go---The Clippers HANDED them the game---our game was see saw most of it---we hit one or two shots at the MOST and we win---Cavs went on a 33-10 run to finish the game off....A LOT of difference in these games....A LOT to Bellyache about.

Simply because the LAC did not maintain the pressure and composure as a team.

I didnt watch a lot of the game(except second half of the first quarter) so I cant say how the played...but Cleveland winning all this last quarters against bad team is in a way logical. The thing is teams are afraid of Lebron and because they have no defense on him Cleveland uses that. They are wining game playing 2 offensive sets:
1)Lebron going to the basket for a layup(at worst they foul him)
2)Lebron going to the basket(Double teamed, triple teamed) and finding a free 3pt shooter

And teams just dont find the answer. I watched 4 games on january Cleveland road trip(Portland, Utah, GSW...) and it was like replay every game. Damn Williams standing in the left corner and waiting on lebron to pass him the ball for uncontested 3pt.

Ok, they will probably have home court advantage but Im not afraid of them. When the defense start to matter in playoffs Atlanta,Detroit,Miami will give a lot of problems to them. I wish Charlotte makes it as a 8th seed becouse with their style of play and veterans they will cause problems to Cleveland.

To conclude...We are still a better team!!!

The Cavs played with heart and pulled out the win, much like they did 2 years ago against Boston before they were good.

The Cavs are a championship-caliber team.
The Celts are a championship-caliber team.
The Lakers are probably a championship-caliber team too.

At most (and most likely exactly) one of those teams will win a championship this season.
