I've pretty much sworn off Baseball over recent years, but I grew up a Cardinals fan. I've heard a lot about the Sports Illustrated cover story with Albert Pujols that asks people to believe in him. The gist is that he's done it cleanly without steroids. On the one side he's put up numbers since day 1. On the other side his numbers are historic in level. On the one side he's never been implicated by steroid rumor. On the other side he's from the Dominican Republic (which has legal steroids making acquisition so easy that A-rod's cousin can do it). On the one side he's going on the record that he's clean. On the other so did Rafael Palmiero demonstratively before he tested positive.
Do you trust what he says? Are you to a point that you don't believe anyone in Baseball anymore? Is it now guilty until proven innocent? Or has steroids caused you to give up on baseball. I've given 5 answers instead of just 2 to capture most of the possibilities. You can indicate that you believe in him, you doubt him specifically, you doubt all baseball players until proven otherwise, you're so soured by steroids that you quit caring, or that you never cared about baseball or steroids in the first place.
So do you believe that Albert is clean?

Never been a big fan of the sport. Loved the Braves with McGriff. Loved Nixon, Terry, & co. a little before that.
For now? Don't care. Not that I don't care that people are paying their hard-earned money to watch cheaters... its like being impressed by a broker who got wealthy off of insider trading. I just don't care because I don't care much for the sport or the players in it.
Like soccer though, I do enjoy the int'l competitions.

Eh, baseball is no different than football. They should just legalize certain PED's to level the playing field.

I hope he didn't take steroids, but I'm leaning towards he did, so when the list of names comes out I hope he's not on the list. My favorite player of all time is Mark McGwire and we all know the story there. It would be refreshing to know that Albert's been clean throughout his career. Even still my interest for the game had dropped.
Heres Albert's high school year book picture.

Re: OT - Do you believe?
No one has come out with any proof or even accusations against Albert Pujols that I'm aware of. But that's always the case until it happens. That Dominican Republic nationality that increases suspicion. The public declaration of being clean is like painting a target on yourself. If you weren't clean that we would be an extremely stupid or arrogant maneuver. Unfortunately, arrogance has dominated the steroid scandals to date.
I'm giving Pujols the benefit of the doubt because he's a Cardinal, but I voted that I don't care anymore because I don't care about baseball anymore. I'm going to a few games this year (for a change), but I had ulterior motives in getting tickets that had nothing to do with baseball.

I don't even watch baseball anymore. I think it's hilarious that people call the NBA and/or NFL "thug leagues" when their sacred sport of baseball is actually the dirtiest of them all.
