Predict these 9 games

Post#1 » by tylero87 » Thu Mar 12, 2009 5:26 pm

So the Jazz's road woes should it's ugly face again last night. Utah hasn't won a roadie against a potential playoff team since December. The Jazz have 9 games left on the road against teams with winning records. So how does this team do in the remaining 9?

@ Miami
@ Orlando
@ Phoenix
@ Denver
@ New Orleans
@ Dallas
@ San Antonio
@ LA Lakers

I for one am still optimistic. Boozer looked slow and flat footed last night but I think his swagger is not up to speed with the rest of the team. He should get better, his jump shot is falling and as soon as he's finishing around the basket that will help this team a lot.

Here's my prediction:

Miami: Loss- Wade is the best player in the league RIGHT NOW and he's gonna score 60. My X-Factor is Brewer. If he can be physical with him and limit him to under 30, the Jazz have a shot.

Orlando: Win- I think Boozer and Millsap should take it inside all night, get their bigs in foul trouble and close out on Orlando's 3 point shooters. We won in Orlando last year and I have a feeling we'll win this game.

Phoenix: Win- Shaq can't guard the pick and roll, no Amare. Enough said.

Portland: Loss- We split the season series with the Blazers. They're really good at home and they have too many shooters.

Denver: Win- I think Denver is going to limp into the post season even with their relatively easy schedule. They blew us out last time in Denver but I expect the Jazz to go 3-1 against them.

New Orleans: Win- We match up well against them, for some reason we're able to execute our offense and get all the looks we want. They fact that we blow them out more often than not bodes well for the Jazz.

Dallas: Loss- Dallas will be looking to hold onto their playoff spot, Nowitzki kills us in Big D and I can't remember the last time Utah won there.

San Antonio: Win- My surprise pick. Maybe I'm too optimistic but at some point we have to win in San Antonio.

Lakers: Loss- They might be resting there players but I doubt it. If they do maybe the Jazz win but I wouldn't hold my breath.

So 5-4 is how I see it going what do you think?

4-5 would already be successful IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if we went 1-8 or 0-9 though.

You didn't add Portland to your initial list.

@ Miami
@ Orlando
@ Phoenix
@ Portland
@ Denver
@ New Orleans
@ Dallas
@ San Antonio
@ LA Lakers

If you break it down into two's, I'd say the Jazz should at least win 1 out of each of those two games (expecting that by the end of the season either the Lakers or the Spurs will not being playing their full team.)

Look at it like this. The Jazz should win one of two at Miami/Orlando. They should win at lesat one of two at Phoenix/Portland. The Jazz should win one of two at Portland/Dallas, should win one of two at New Orleans/San Antonio, and that leaves the final game of the season @ LA.

BTW the Lakers game is the last night of the season, don't expect the Lakers to be running at 100% unless HCA through out the playoffs is on the line.

Basically, I think the Jazz should go at least 4-5. Realize they could easily get 4 of 5 in the middle section at Phoenix, Portland, Denver, Dallas and New Orleans.

Anything more then that and I'd be thrilled.

I think the Jazz will go 12-5 the rest of the way and end up at 53-29.

@ Miami loss, jazz suck against offensive powerhouses like wade, he will get 40-50 points this game
@ Orlando loss, okur will probably foul out, and dwight will get at least 20-20
@ Phoenix win
@ Denver loss, we got lucky in the win at delta center
@ New Orleans windwill will dominate cp3 again
@ Dallas win
@ San Antonio loss, self explanatory
@ LA Lakers loss, self explanatory

jazz go 3-5

I might look like a serious homer from these picks but I seriously think this team is starting to figure it out. I say they go 6-3.

Heat-loss. I think a win is possible if they contain Wade but otherwise I think they will smoke us.
Magic-win. This one could go either way but I feel good about our chances. I think if they let Dwight explode than we're in some trouble but otherwise it's all ours.
Phoenix-win. I love our matchups against Phoenix and I think that they're headed in the exact opposite direction as us.
Denver-win. This is going to be a full on catfight but I think the Jazz will come out on top by less than 5.
Hornets-win. D-Will owns Chris Paul and the Jazz have the edge against the Hornets. They're a good team but Utah has them figured out.
Dallas-win. Both teams will be well rested but the Jazz are simply a better team.
San Antonio-loss. Things could change but I don't see the 10+ year losing streak in SA ending.
Lakers-loss. IMO this matchup goes to the home team 9 out of 10 times.
