^wow you are DEFINITELY mistaken if you think Boris is better than Amare^

Have you watched basketball in the last 3 seasons at all? He is the epitome of everything wrong with professional athletes. He got paid and mailed it in. There was no personal challenge, there was no consistency, there was no reason for him to underperform at the epic levels he was calling "playing" for 3 years.

Worst post ever.

Im going to go out on a limb and assume youre french, as your bias is blinding and pitiful

So? Our two best seasons with Mike D'Antoni came with Amare and Boris Diaw as centers (don't tell me KT is a Center cause he isn't as well). Garnett is a perfect "fake" center for a SSOL team. Hell, he is born to play that style. He can run the floor, defend, pass the ball, shot the occasional mid range jumper...

And how did those best seasons end?

So getting to the WCF doesn't mean anything? If u don't win the ring you should blow the team up and redo everything? Cause u did all wrong?

Are you saying that no focus on defense and no legitimate center can win it all?

No focus on defense is ur opinion. The Suns of thea second WCF were actually a pretty good defensive team. Almost in the top 10 of the league, while being the best offense. So we could've won with that.

A legitimate center...well, it depends what u mean for legitimate. Is Kendrik Perkins a legitimate center? Is average at best. The Bulls of the Jordan era won without any good centers. There are no dogmas in sports. At least I don't believe in them.

W/ a healthy KT, I think PHX ranked top 7 in Defensive Efficiency...then he got injured and it went downhill from there.

Top 7!?! Wow, even better than I remebered. I mean N° 1 offense and n° 7 defense is a championship contender to me and we might have won the ring with an healthy team (even without Amare).

Funny how everybody always thinks D'Antoni teams are terrible playing D, when it's actually not true.

No focus on defense was not an opinion, it was the teams mentality. Dantoni doesnt focus on defense. It was widely reported and his number 1 criticism. I even remember an article around the first time we played the knicks this season when either QRich or Nate Robinson said the week of the phoenix matchup was the first time they even ran defensive drills.

Youre being a homer.

Amare is not a legitimate center. He has even stated he is not a center. Kendrink perkins is a legit center. He is not a great center, but he is the dictionary definition of a center. Garnett is not a center, and prefers to play with a legit center as well. These arent opinions, and your homerism is blinding you from separating opinion and reality.

SSOL as a pure method is flawed. A hybrid of the ingenious system that has a gameplan on the defensive side of the ball is the smart way to do it. This is obvious to anyone but dantoni homers.

This whole "SSOL" is flawed idea IS flawed. January 06, we had the BEST offense in the league, and the FOURTH best defense in the league. FOURTH! That's an effing championship caliber team:

Sucks that KT got injured that season, but w/ KT/Marion/Bell, we were an effing top notch defensive team. So this whole "D'Antoni doesn't care about defense" thing is crap; give him good defensive personnel and he'll coach a good defensive team.

Seriously. I'm SO sick of people saying the Suns of the D'Antoni era didnt play defense. All they needed to do was look at that.

I swear, I was listening to the Suns/Cavs announcers today and these people had NO clue about the Suns. I found myself YELLING at the TV correcting them.
