Aaron Rodgers: Is he the Future?

Post#1 » by jarrettjackfan » Fri Mar 13, 2009 2:25 am

This is also posted on another forum by me.

I was just thinking, is Aaron Rodgers the future of the Packers, and if so what are they going to do with Brian Brohm?

I was on aim just a few minutes ago, and someone asked me that question. I stopped, thought about it, then answered simply, "Yes he is the future of the Packers."

Yes, that was my answer, and then I realized I had to back it up. So, I looked some stuff up, and then I just decided to give my opinion.

A-Rod is our future, because, first of all, he played like a very good starting NFL quarterback last season. He wasn't the most consistent QB in the entire NFL, but he was definitely solid.

It was very important that he played a good season because all of the problems surrounding the offseason with the Packers trading future Hall of Famer quarterback and long-time Green Bay Packer Brett Favre, after Favre had said he wanted to come back and lead the Packers to the Super Bowl, or at least try.

The news was all over ESPN, and all over the sports TV channels, as well as all over online sports sites. Despite all the pressure that was surrounding Rodgers, he still didn't let it get too him. We heard all offseason from him that it didn't matter whether Brett came back or not, he would take it in stride either way. If Favre came back, he would take it as another season of learning and be ready the next year. If Favre didn't come back, which was the case, then he would be ready to step in there and be the starting quarterback for the Packers.

Finally, the Packers decided too end the Brett Favre drams once and for all. They just pulled the trigger and sent Brett Favre to the New York Jets for a draft pick, at that time a fourth rounder, but because of conditions attached has been made a third rounder heading into this years draft.

After the deal, Rodgers knew he had the job. He could finally begin preparing knowing that he had the starting job.

Rodgers led the Packers on a very rocky season. The season had it's ups and down, with wins coming against teams like the Colts and Vikings. The frustrating part for Aaron Rodgers was that down the stretch the Packers had so many chances to win games, they just couldn't hold on. That had a lot to do with the fact that Green Bay just couldn't score the ball in the 4th quarter.

Putting that behind them, they head into this year, confident, young, and a little more experience, hoping to make a charge back to the playoffs. Hopefully they make it.

What are your thoughts on Aaron Rodgers? Do you agree with what I've said?

Put it this way. Rodgers exceeded everyones expectations and Brohm was so bad he was beat out for second string by our 7th round pick.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I try to be respectful to posters, but this is a pretty dumb thread and that's being kind. He asks if Rodgers is our future, did he miss the 60 million dollar contract that Thompson gave Aaron?

There isn't a QB that is 25 or under that I'd rather have. Matt Ryan might be the only guy.

Yeah I didn't even notice his sig with the link to his sports forum. The reason this thread was started was to obviously pimp that site. Not allowed.
