I think your Aldrich and DeRozan picks are a little optimistic. If Aldrich comes out (big if at this point), I think he'll go just a tad higher. Regarding Derozan, I think he's beginning to climb back a little bit to the point where he has a shot at the late lottery.

I was waiting for someone to point that out (I've seen the DX write up too). Barry does have a better handle, but that's something he developed over time. Defensively, I agree Barry is superior, but in both aspects you mentioned Budinger certainly has room to improve. The BBIQ and the athleticism are there to make it happen.

I'd like him with the Utah pick, and would not be all that disappointed if we took him with the Miami pick depending on who was available.

In the only game I've seen Budinger play this year, it looked like he was being used as the primary ball handler. I can't imagine Arizona would be using him in that capacity if he had ball handling issues.

That's funny, the only game I saw of him this year he was being used as a welcome mat.

This draft is going to be ridiculous. There's no way were going to go into next season with 4+ rookies... is there? It's exciting to think of all the 'steals' we could get with all those picks, but it's probably more realistic to think about how they could be packaged and what we could get back for them.

I'm guessing we either end up with 2 "upper tier" rookies and filler, or 1 rookie and 1 nice vet. I hope we're able to pull off a Sonics type draft of '07. Get lucky in the lottery and then trade back into the lottery to get the other prospect you covet.

Aldrich at #18 would be fantastic, just fantastic. DeRozan at the Utah pick would be lovely. the rest makes me wanna vomit. :-(

I guess I don't see how Teague fits in. If we see him as our two guard of the future, we don't have a point to match with him and we get even smaller. He doesn't look to be the type of point we need. Maybe if we still had KG, but not with Big Al and Foye.

Tyler Smith just seems to be another under-sized, skinny PF.

Tyler Smith is an SF btw. 6-7 220 and he's a good passer and a very good defensive player.I think he fits well with this team.

Jeff Teague is a very intriguing player because he can shoot the ball and can pass the ball.Although his defensive is a suspect.

Foye/Teague/Bassy
DeRozan/Miller
Smith/Carney
Love/Gomes
Jefferson/Aldrich

I know this is wishful thinking but, hey, a fan can dream right?

We cannot blanket athleticism. He has speed and springs, but how about strength?

I'd worry about his lateral quickness more than his strength, after all he is white.

You are correct sir. I would not be all that surprised if we either a) sold off a pick (worst case), b) traded a pick for a future #1 (most likely case), c) packaged one or two picks along with Cardinal or another player to get a Vet (most intriguing case).

You saying white people aren't quick? Cause if you are, you're right. We're slow.

Tyler Smith is a tweener that would slide to SF due to lack of size, but he's not a great ball handler, can't shoot, and old. I'd think we'd want someone who could compete with Gomes, Miller, and Brewer for minutes. You have him starting over a FA that likely won't be re-signed in your depth chart, and forgot about Brewer. AND WHERE"S COOKIE!?!?!? THAT'S A TRAVESHAMOCKERY! Guess my thinking is if we're going to go after a SF, it should be an impact one that becomes our 3 for the future, not someone who's 5th on the depth chart.

You also have DeRozan starting, while our lottery pick backs up our non-PG in Foye? Teague's not a point guard, especially not in our system with our players. He's very turn-over prone, and he's wild. He's more interested in the "spectacular" play than the easy play. Teague can hit his shots, but as DX says, "slow, very much flat-footed release, but it’s incredibly effective, especially when he has the time and space to set his feet." How in the world is he going to find that space in the NBA against quicker, longer players? Wake Forest is a VERY fast team, which allows him those open looks, we're not. Our perimeter defense is garbage enough, and he shows little interest in playing it, unless he can get the pretty steal, thus leaving his teammates hanging, and we don't have the guy to clean that up.

Teague just screams, "me first". He's concerned only about what's going to show up on SportsCenter.

Yea, takes some skill to take something out of context and make a blanket statement. Good job.

I think Maynor is rising in my mind again. if we go for a 5 or a 3 with our pick, then we need a pg with the Miami pick. Right now I would consider Curry, Holiday, collison, (Not Teague, Lawson or Jennings) but I want to add Maynor to that list. True PG, but can score big time. he has a high basketball IQ, clutch, plays hard, quick, good uptempo PG that excels at drive and kick, true pass first PG, good defender, good ballhandler, good passer (knows how to feed post and throw alley oops), needs to add strength. He sounds like a good developmental PG to me. Many of the positives of ACIE Law traits I see in Maynor's scoring, but with the true pg mindset (really Law's issue) perhaps a poor-man Cassel with more athletic ability? Maybe a wal-mart Devin Harris?

Nah, Bobby Jackson in his prime maybe?

Besides Rubi-x Cube, Maynor is my favorite pg prospect in this draft. He'll be a steal if we get him at Miami.

Puh-lease. Get off your high horse already. Give credit where credit is due. That was the self declared Krapinsky post of the year.

I'm still waiting for the examples of budinger being a headcase/lazy. Not to be accusatory or anything, but the longer I just hear people making terribly unfunny whiteboy jokes, the more I think that headcase label is BS and we should take him with Miami's pick.

This reel really sold me on Budinger; I'd be interested to hear what people who have the patience for it think. It also has a lot of great jordan hill highlights:
