He doesn't take on three per game. The average just comes to that because he was jacking up treys from all over the place early in the season.

Smith is averaging over 1 3 pt attempt per game this season. He has taken 8 3s in his last 10 games. That is more than Amare has taken all season.

He has no business being out there in the first place.

You're manipulating the numbers. First of all, Josh is averaging one three pointer a game because he was heaving them up like he was Dirk earlier in the season (I remember discussing this and he was taking like 2.5 a game as of a couple of months ago). Secondly, Josh has only taken 12 treys in 28 games (starting in mid-January). He has quite obviously been catching the ball inside the perimeter the vast majority of the time. He is very rarely outside the three point line nowadays... finally.

While dumb shots are still something that are a part of his game, the three pointer situation is a complete non-issue at this point. Could he have possibly figured out to stop heaving up those treys on his own?

I am not manipulating anything. Smith has taken 8 threes in the last 10 games. that is a fact. I could just as easily say you are manipulating the numbers by focusing solely on the time when he cut down his 3 pt attempts.

The Smith three point situation is a non-issue at this point. It's quite clear he has made a concerted effort to start catching the ball inside the three point line. That's all that any of us were asking him to do. We shouldn't even be discussing this anymore.

Even taking 8 threes in ten games isn't a big deal for a guy that was taking 2.5 a game earlier in the season.

8 3s in 10 games is 8 too many. I don't see guys like Boozer, Brand or Amare shooting 3s even though they are far better shooters than Smith.
