2009 Draft Party

Post#1 » by aaprigs311 » Thu Mar 12, 2009 7:45 pm

Packers Draft Party Set For April 25; Tickets On Sale Now At Wisconsin Mills Fleet Fleet Farm.

posted 03/11/2009

The Green Bay Packers and Mills Fleet Farm announced plans today for the sixth annual Packers Draft Party, set for April 25 at the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The event will run from 3 to 9 p.m. (doors will open at 2 p.m.) and will feature draft coverage on two large, ultra-bright TV projection screens, and the Packers' flagship radio station, Newsradio 620 WTMJ, will be on hand to provide coverage and analysis throughout the day. The Packers have the ninth overall pick, and each club is allotted 10 minutes to make a selection in the first round. Overall, the Packers have four picks in the top 85 selections.

Tickets for the event, priced at $25, currently are on sale at 18 Wisconsin Mills Fleet Farm locations and must be purchased in person. Children ages 6 and younger are free.

Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy will greet fans prior to the start of the draft.

The Atrium once again will be a Wi-Fi "Hot Spot," allowing attendees who bring wireless-enabled laptops to log on to their favorite draft Web sites and follow the day's action online. Computer stations also will be available that will enable fans to track draft information via the Web. A limited amount of tables will have power available and a charging station also will be set up for users to recharge their laptop computer batteries.

In addition to televised draft coverage and WTMJ's radio program, the day will feature appearances by Packers players Will Blackmon, Ruvell Martin, Jordy Nelson and Aaron Rouse. Selected players will participate in a question-and-answer session on stage with WTMJ Radio as well as sign autographs for attendees via a ticketed session. Attendees will receive a ticket for one randomly assigned, two-player autograph session when entering the party.

Other features of the day include:
• Additional Club Level seating with projection TVs and flat screen TVs throughout.
• Commemorative 2009 Packers Draft Party cap for all attendees.
• Question-and-answer sessions, interactive games for kids and adults.
• Viewing opportunity of Lambeau Field from a Club Level viewing suite.
• Free entry for a chance to win door prizes, including autographed Packers items and Mills Fleet Farm gift cards.
• Draft history trivia contest.
• "Packers Garage Sale" with one-of-kind Packers items.
• Wii video game stations, offering attendees the opportunity for a friendly game.
• Food and drink will be available for purchase at Curly's Pub, Frozen in Time and Atrium eateries.

Other new elements to the Draft Party are being finalized, including an online draft contest and a special new feature that will build excitement for the weekend. Both elements will offer prizes. Details will be announced March 30.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as a limited number are available due to the Lambeau Field Atrium's capacity.

More information, including specific Mills Fleet Farm locations, can be found online at www.packers.com/fan_zone/events/draft_party. Please call the Green Bay Packers, at 920/569-7500, with further questions.

Always a great time. Erv and I will be there. If you like football, beer, and food this is the place to be on draft day. I don't even think you have to pay the $25 to get up into Curley's unless you want the ugly hat and draft party bag. The draft doesn't start until 3 this year so that leaves ample time for tailgating. It's definitely worth checking out.

Personally, I love being a slug on the couch on draft day. Going to buy a bag of Doritos and a frozen pizza, a sixer of Leinie's and doing nothing but scouring the net and switching back and forth between ESPN and the NFL Network. My favorite two days of the year.

I hear ya. There's just something electric about that draft party. Everyone is so excited by the time we're on the clock. And then we take a guy like Harrell and the place full of thousands of rowdy drunks is silenced until the boo's start circulating. Then everyone gets another chance to boo TT as he addresses the crowd. (I didn't boo him for drafting Harrell, but should have.)

I would get too drunk and start a fight. So it's probably a good thing I stay home. :)

Exactly. I'm going to my brother-in-laws house with a sixer of Two Hearted and stack of Jack's frozen pizzas. Only one day of the year is better, Thanksgiving.

I'm supposed to move out of my current place that weekend, I just realized. I e-mailed my landlord to see if I can move into my new place a couple weeks early so I can safely have Direct TV set everything up and I can have my TV, couch and internet set-up. If not, I'll have to go to my folks place and I really don't want to do that.

I've always loved the first day of the draft when it was three rounds. On the next day, i generally would stick around for the 4th round, but after that i either left or checked in here and there on ESPN/the net when the Packers picks were up.

I think my brother and I will be up there this year for our first times. Looks and sounds like a lot of fun; it'll be something different than what we normally do for draft day.

There is usually about an hour long line to get in so make sure you get there early enough. You gotta get in line even earlier if you want a table at Curly's which is the place to be if you're of age. I can't wait.

I hope Crabtree falls so we can take him and watch that place erupt into pure violence.

I was never a big fan of DiGiorno's. More of a Jack's guy. Their Mexican Pizza and Canadian Bacon mainly. And speaking of Cheetoes, have you had their new Puffcorn? Amazing.

Jack's are good.

Have you tried these?

Go to a Kwik Trip and find one of the ultra thin crusts. Ridiculously good.

I've never had one. Then again, I don't think I've ever been to a Kwik Trip either. Jack's is a nice quality/price combo. Pick n' Save usually has them on sale 3 for $10. If I'm splurging I'll get an Uno's frozen pizza.

Never had Orv's. Don't trust 'em.

Orv's makes good pizzas. Although it's pricey, Home Run Inn makes a great frozen pizza

I've heard numerous people say that, but I can't agree. Too greasy and tastes a little weird.

This needed a bump for 2 reasons.
1) Draft day is almost here, baby!

2) Wayne Larivee was on 620 tonight and said it's almost guaranteed that if Crabtree is there, we're taking him.

Interesting. Either that or we are trying to pump up the value in case somebody below us really values Crabtree.

If we took Crab, at that point Jamez Jonez would have to be dealt for a 4th or something.
