I hated to see Nate Washington leave. He was a local guy that played his college ball right down the road from where Big Ben grew up, so I know they had to have some type of a decent relationship because they probably had some childhood memories that they could talk about and relate to.

Now we need to find a speedster to take his place because Nate could get behind the coverage better then anyone else on the team IMO. Can Sweed be that guy, is he fast enough to get behind the coverage? I imagine the answer is no because I see where we had Joey Galloway in, he signed with the Patriots, which will improve that teams core of receivers. It might be something we address somewhere in the draft. If you see us take a receiver in the draft, I'd say there is a good chance that he will be a speedster.

McFadden was also a big loss for us, so I think we will draft a couple of Corners.

We gain an advantage in that we get a number one pick from last years draft back this year, and we haven't really seen much of him, so Mendenhall will be like getting an extra first round pick for us.

And we still need to find a way to protect our Quarterback better.

Carolina recently released WR D.J. Hackett from the team. Before he missed some games last season, he produced some good numbers for the Panthers despite not recording any catches from the previous season. He can wide out pass the backfield defense and is good at catchin the ball. He would make a good third or fourth option for the Steelers.

On Mendenhall, you're right about the Steelers kinda of having that extra pick since he ended up missing the majority of the season. Shad coming back in the upcoming season so how will the Steelers balance out the RB group of Parker, Moore, and Mendenhall. Somewhere down the line, one of these players may not get to play as much.

I wouldn't worry about down the road on the 3 headed backfield just yet. Parker couldn't stay healthy again last season. I question the Rookies durability, Moore was a godsend to our season. Tomlin went out and got the right piece on that signing.

I am not real familiar with the D.J. Hacket. I guess Holmes can easily take that route for us, but it would become quite predictable. I am not sure what Sweed really gives us yet, and Ward isn't getting any younger. We need to add another receiver or two.

I see where we are signing some of last years offensive line. Marvel Smith can't stay healthy, so letting him go elsewhere wouldn't be a huge loss.

I think we draft top player available at the Oline, Wideout, or Dline positon with our first three picks. Who where and what, will all fall into place based on what position slips in the first round.

We could also go for a corner, but I suspect Tomlin probably will find us a free agent or two to finish out the defensive backfield.

Haven't heard a peep on the guy in a while. I'll see if I can find any info about his current status. If someone else knows feel free to share.
