OT: Personal attacks should stop, seriously.

Post#1 » by DieselCeltic » Mon Mar 16, 2009 6:16 pm

Ok, I've been reading RealGM for few years now and decided to sign up months ago. Some of my posts have been positive and some negative. In no way shape or form do I want to be pesimistic like Joethebiscuit, nor do I want to be compared to him, he is he and I am I, period. Now, to clarify to everyone once again, I am 24 yrs old, born and raised in Boston (Dorchester) currently residing in Revere. How on earth can this qualify me as a BANDWAGONER ??? I just don't get it. What exactly is a bandwagoner anyways. A true celtic fan that gets bad on his/her team if they lose or a fan who was not a Celtics fan and then when they started to Win and be elite they come aboard and are ultimate celtics fans. I guess I am a bandwagoner when it comes to our teams poor play.

So from now on please refrain from calling me a bandwagoner. 2nd we should respect eachothers opinions no matter what. UBUNTU! Unity, we all are Celtics fans. But I've seen a lot of vets who just abuse, bash and make fun of other posters. Just because you have 2000 posts doesn't mean you're smarter than me. It means that I have a life and I have other things to do instead of post here 24/7.

Say what you want about Joethebiscuit but the man is right. He clearly knows what he's talking about. He may not be 100% right all the time but I'm afraid this time he is.

This team is becoming like the MIAMI HEAT when they won the championship. That's what we are. If you think we are good enough to beat Cleveland in game 7 you must be mental. They lost ONE freaking game this entire season. This tells a lot about a team.

I am a Celtic fan. So, if I state my opinion and say we are not going to win a championship, I'm gonna have 20 of you calling me a lamer, a homer, or a bandwagoner ??  that's a bunch of BS. What surprises me the most is that the mods allow this type of personal attacks. I haven't seen ONE realgm board that has the uptight, stuckup, stubborn fans as some of you are. Every forum I go I see people get a long, but here, we have members attacking eachother JUST BECAUSE OF THEIR POINTS OF VIEW. I wonder how old are some of you ?

To end this thread, I will say this. And remember today's date. March 16, 2009. The Celtics will not even advance to the NBA Finals. If they do, I will leave the board permanently, I guarantee you this. One thing you might not know about me is when I make a promise I keep it. So again, I guarantee all of you that we won't get to the finals, mark my words people.

Even if we have 6 players on the court we will lose. Elite championship teams don't turn the ball over so much. Name me one freaking team that had as many TO's as we do.
So I hope this thread clears a lot of things here. Just because I think we won't get to the finals doesn't mean I should be flamed.

Enjoy the painfull playoffs girls.

2007-2008 Celtics: 16 turnovers per game.
2008-2009 Celtics: 15.2 turnovers per game.

Less than one a game difference.

A real fan always believes in his team! I don`t care if we have 12 Scal`s on the roster I will always hope for the best!

And that is a difference between a bandwagon fan like you and us. When we aren`t as good anymore you will nowhere to be found but we will root for the team just as we do now, probably even more!

First off, I actually contributed to your thread, and did not call you a bandwagoner, so I know this isn't directed at me. But if you are going to start a thread complaining about people attacking you, it is not smart to throw two blows at them at the same time.

Well said.

I will pray to God with all my might that the Celtics make it to the Finals and win just so I don't have to listen to his **** EVERY **** TIME we lose a game or someone gets injured...

I guess not expecting the Celtics to go 82-0 makes us "delusional" fans...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I dont believe in personal attack but the only thing that should stop on this board is giving up on your team!

to be fair Diesel had us beating us Det and LA last year when a lot of posters on this board doubted us.

You gotta take the good with the bad, and those that stick around are the true fans! If winning the championship last year means the Celtics will suck for the next five years, so be it. I will still be watching the games and hoping for the best. 8-)

Name one team in any sport that has not had dry spells?

You know what man, I a real fan of the Celtics I get sick and don't feel like coming into work when the lose a game and I a happy and much better person to be around when they win. But I'm also a fan who likes to keep it real. I agree with the person who started this thread. I don't think the Cs can beat the Cavs in a 7 game series if they continue to play like that have been playing all season. I this this year Celtics team is not a good as last year team. They lost their edge for some reason maybe it because they won it already and now they are the ones with the tragets on their back. But even if your a fan or not you can see that the Cavs have what the Cs had last season. Now I'm a fan and if it comes down to Boston vs. Cleveland in the ECF I'm going to be pulling for the Cs. I hope to make it to a game or two. But right now I don't think the Cs can beat them in a 7 game series. That doesn't make me less of a fan I just don't always see things thru green color glasses.

PS. I hope I'm wrong about this and I would be happy to be proven wrong. Also I do feel the Cs can beat those soft as tissue paper Lakers.

I am not interested in threads that are self-serving, so I am locking this. That being said, there should never be personal attacks regardless of someone being a fan or bandwagon whatever.
