I'll give them about a week of patience and then they'll go on rampage.

In my head I keep saying I hope I'm wrong but whatever I said so far was 100% spot on, dead on accurate so.

well then YOU WIN!!! That's right, you've won the basketball message-board prediction-off!

Seriously, so what? You feel vindicated? What good does it do to antagonize 90% of the people on here just so you can say you were right?

Because these are the people who think I'm wrong. So, my theories just prove some people wrong thats all.

Dude, it's a 50-50 chance. They either lose, or they win. You said they will lose. Stop acting like you're nostradamus. Predict the score and then I will tip my hat to you.

Stop boasting because you're right. No one wants to here it. Does that really help you? Watching LBJ win a championship, or Kobe, "Hey at least my proved those guys on a message board wrong."

Deisel, don't be a prick and lower yourself to their level. Just stick to what you believe and defend your position. Evaluate and re-evaluate. Process new data. And most importantly, ignore that cat and his needling. He is a troll like that other b-girl that chases people from thread to thread.

Ahh, the self-righteous Pogue returns...if you had noticed, Diesel and I had some laughs in other threads...but of course unless you come here to be super-intellectual about basketball (a game!), make page-long threads bashing Ray Allen and the team, then according to snobby Pogue, you're an idiot...

I'd tell you to go **** on off out of here but it'd only make you post more...

Honestly, what do you expect his reaction to be? He and other posters are being chased from thread to thread for having a different opinion. Different people deal with situations on different levels. If Joe Biscuit is negative because he doesn't want to put a reverse hex on the team or Deisel Celtic spouts off, with as much certainty as he can, they are just reacting to different stimuli.

I understand your point but how do you honestly expect this guy to react when the Insatiable and Kefa Fan Police are chasing him from thread to thread? People often use messageboards to vent frustration over the way a game, season, etc is going. They use it to discuss player transactions and different things involving the team. It is not a place to conduct a mod-sanctioned witch hunt on those that have a different opinion.

Messageboards are really the only way to give Joe Dink the Average Fan a platform to talk about his team. The absolute worst thing is for the person who is venting to feel that their message is being suppressed because they feel like they are being treated unfairly.

I have been on the side of unpopular opinion. I know how it feels to have a different opinion and get to the point that reasoning is no longer an option because the posters with the majority opinion go into mob-mentality --- think an entire herd of raging, menstruating wildebeests. Seriously, what option does a poster have if the posters on the other side are allowed to take pot-shots without reprimand because they are supporting the majority opinion? What option does that poster have when the majority often don't even support their position with reasoned analysis? Hey, I am all for passion regarding the Celtics or anything, really, but I support enlightened discussion and debate more than anything else.

I don't condone Deisel Celtic's responses but I can certainly understand why he has reacted the way he has. RealGM is becoming more and more like Das Celticsbloggen every day and I find that unfortunate.

Not really. Many users try to ignore posters who are pessimistic. I have ignored the pessimistic fans in the game threads over the years I have been on this board.

And I agree, many people need to vent. But when someone starts a thread laughing in our faces that he was right, and the celtics will not repeat. And "Enjoy the painful playoffs little girls." I am going to get a little ticked.

Right. You get irritated because you feel they are attempting to mock, correct? Is that any different than an "I told you so" from the majority opinion, though?

I don't think his "I told you so" is the gloating variety (though I may be wrong.) I honestly believe that the "I told you so" was a reaction to the opposition he was sensing. It's all good if both sides are playing fair but, from where I am sitting, that is not the case.

He started a thread. Saying IF we don't win. Some played along. Others were just tired of the IF game.

After no one really agreed with him. He then started two threads bashing us. So, he made his own bed.

^exactly. For the incredibly discerning pogue who seems to be so concerned with the intellectual merit of each and every post on here, he sure does put a lot of stock into DieselCeltic's posts which amount to a little more than "Haha I was right we suck we lost, eat it jerks" over the last couple of weeks...

pogue only doesn't think both sides are playing fair because he is constantly proven wrong in most of his arguments but doesn't want to admit it...that or the fact that his posts are rejected by all but something like two other posters (JoeBiscuit and DieselCeltic)

and I'm glad to see he didn't disappoint us by not posting a half-page post in response...

People, it's a **** GAME...sports is meaningless in the grand scheme of things...why get all **** worked up? But for those of us who understand this and use it as a diversionary escape, it's annoying for people to **** on the parade anytime anything bad, to any degree happens ("oh no so-and-so blew his knee out, season over" all the way to "crap we lost a few games, the world is going to end")...it's **** laughable!

Let's just end all this flaming and bashing eachother. If we are all mature adults we can agree or disagree. If I hurt anyones feelings, I am truly sorry. I sincerely apologize to everyone esp. the mods and admins. Maybe I went over the line and said some childish things but I guess I was just mad. It won't happen again, book it.

I had time to think and what I came up with is that we all love and root for the same team, and we all love the Boston Celtics. We should unite and show respect to one another and swallow some **** pride. Joebiscuit and others who see things differently should still be respected as a member and as a human being and as a same fan. No need for personal attacks or flamings...

Once again I apologize to everyone.

However, I still think we simply cannot get the job done this year folks. We really can't. I wish I had the hopes as some of you do but man, those Cavs and Lakers are just something else.
