Would you guys/Kerr do/like this trade....Polling inside 2

Post#1 » by perezident » Wed Mar 18, 2009 6:27 pm

Hey im a sac fan and proposed this trade in the trades forum. Nevertheless, their was some discussion on whether or not Suns fans would prefer a deal like this

#1, Jason Thompson, Donte Greene Kenny Thomas Beno Udrih for Amare' Dragic
basically #1, Jason Thompson, Donte Greene for Amare

OR

#3, Andray Blatche, Nick Young, DeShawn Stevenson Kenny Thomas for Amare Dragic
basically #3, Blatche, Young for Amare

If you sleep on Beno, he can drop 30/10 on you.

You mean Etan Thomas in the second one, right? Probably roll with the second one now that I look at it.. but there's no way in hell Washington would do that. Giving up two young great talents, plus possibly a #1 pick (they're the worst record in the NBA). I'd think Sacramento is more likely to do that trade, and I don't mind that one. Jason seems like a good young talent, Greene might be half decent if he's given some playing time, Thomas expires, and Beno gives us a backup to Nash + We can draft anyone we want with the 1/2 pick we'll get..

It's difficult to tell what the picks will actually be, talent wise both trades are pretty similar but based off that I'd do trade #2 because it sends Amare to the east.

no actually i proposed a three team deal, with Sac/Wiz/Phx. And in the deal Kenny Thomas would go to the Suns. And in both scenarios Amare goes to the Kings.

The discussion was about taking the Wiz out the deal all together and just have the kings offer JT #1 Greene to the Suns for Amare.

But again in the three team deal I had the #1 going to the Wiz along with Beno, Greene and JT
while the suns got #3 Blatche, Young Stevenson Kenny Thomas. The kings would get JaVale McGee Amare and Dragic

Im not sure which one I would want. I guess it depends on where the draft picks land for sac town and the wiz. Most likely, this would be a draft day trade. First, the wizards would have to give us Butler or Jameson in the trade. I would want butler.
Also, this would be best because Amare is out of the west. I know, you want him to come to the kings, but I am forgetting that. Blatche is nice, serviceable big that can have some solid nights. Nice game, but will not be a start in his career. I like JT because he is mature and has a nice solid all around game. I think he is in the mold of LA of Portland, but not or will not be as good as him. Solid guys I think you need to have in building a team and depth.

I like Greene, but I think he came out too early and needs to polish his game up if he is going to be anything. I think he was more hype and that he does not have the drive or brains to be of the mold of a Rudy Gay or Marvin Williams type player. I hope he can be, but am not sure he can. I also like a trade with OKC in getting Green and their pick. I love what Green brings to the table as a SF.

Thing is, if the suns make the right moves this off-season, they can still have a solid team next year and build for the future. Suns have to play their cars right, and maybe a fire sale is not the right thing to do this summer.

I don't think ANY team involved would do these deals

but I believe SDU is lieing about his ' either if '

Amare deals are complicated... Assuming he is healthy 100%, there is still the 'one and done' risk. I suppose all you trade-makers are assuming he will resign with whoever he is dealt to. (and I don't think his value is as high as some would believe.) It will be unlikely that his ego will be compensated the next time at the negotiating table. Furthermore, any deal involving him WILL require HIS approval (ie agreement to be extended) , giving him some negotiating leverage. I can't imagine any team giving up too much talent and picks on a player that will likely be available for the same dough the following yr. I am beginning to believe he will remain here, as most deals I see seem less and less likely.

In conclusion, IMO, no way any team will give up #1 Blake Griffin for Brittle Stat at 4 times the cost.

Seriously, I would do a #1 + filler for Amare but definitely not the kind of deals mentioned above;too much in PHX favor. But Hey, there's always hopes :D
