I have a feeling Harden will be gone by the time the Nets pick, I wouldn't be disappointed with Derozan...

^^^Is that an alternate lifestyle tank?

Anyway, no to Derozan.

Portland can still trade for VC, I believe they are under the cap this offseason and can trade players/picks/TE for VC or another player.

Do we really have to tank? All we have to do is play. It's inevitable

^^^ Exactly. That's what I've been saying. We'll play hard, but still lose, due to bad coaching and just not having enough fire power this season. Our defense is way down in my opinion too.

knicks fan here, just wanted to know what is the biggest need for the Nets? small forward or shooting guard?

This doesnt look good for the Knicks if the Nets and Raptors(the two teams that will most likely finish 8 and 9 in the lottery) opt for a shooting guard in the draft.

I'd honestly say 1 or the other as long as they have 3 characteristics:

1. High Ceiling
2. Already/Close to a starter quality player now (i.e. Harden lol or Clark to an extent)
3. Young

Vince can play the 2 or 3 so if we can land a solid player at one of those positions, I'm pumped. Personally, I would want a full sized SG if I had to choose cause I want James Harden. If we can address this in this upcoming offseason, I'll be happy with our progression. If we move Vince, it better be for a SG or SF that fits into all 3 of those categories so we can address the other position in the draft.

I am with Prelude.

I want a SG. We have a bench full of SF even though most of them wont be here for long.

Harden fits the bill. Granted if we had the first pick I would take Griffin, but Harden is the person I want.

You know how Kiki talks about "winning with a purpose"? Well, I don't consider what we're talking about to be "tanking", so much as "losing with a purpose".

For example, let Vince continue to spur this team onto victory, but limit his minutes to 32 per game. Give PT to Chris Douglas-Roberts so that he develops into the player we know he can be. The last thing we want is for our 31yo star to develop a nagging injury from playing 46mpg as the #1, #2 and #4 offensive option (Brook's #3), especially with the amount of money HMHA has left on his contract. Not to mention, we may field some pretty enticing offers for VC this summer, but all of that will not happen if Carter isn't healthy enough to trade.

As I've stated many times, neither I nor anyone else on this board is advocating that we wave the white flag on this season. So, alot of people are rallying against a perceived argument that simply does not exist.

Whoops, my apologies. Vince Carter is 32.

I've been in the tank since we got crushed by the Celtics during that home and home series a month or two back. This team is simply not capable of rolling with the elites from the east, and it's going to result in an early exit from the playoffs if they somehow even make it into the playoffs.

Lets let our young players get their minutes in an attempt to develop some form of consistency in their play and limit the minutes of our stars. It's unfortunate that we ever have to admit "intentionally losing" but the bottom line is that the potential value of a top pick in next years draft is far more important than an inevitable early round exit if we did indeed make the playoffs.

A top draft pick in this years draft, coupled by notable free agents joining in 2010, would make this team formidable for the first time in over four years.
