He is supposed to be on a pitch count all year. I don't know if he ever threw over 80 last yr. Point being they are not going to jeapordize his career to save one season. Also he could have done a better job locating his pitchis tonight.
I say all this as Proctor throws a curve in the dirt and a run scores
sweeeeet
Well the plan in AAA was to get him to 100 pitches by mid-way through the season. Meaning by June he should be out of that 90 pitch count and be right there with the rest of the guys. Of course, he could have done better so could all the other guys I mentioned but they didn't. Thing is he still did better than all of them and even the hits he gave up were off of good pitches not 85 mph straight fast balls up in the zone. The kid is known for excellent control, he got into trouble with that that in the first inning and he will be fine as it goes along. -Jitpal

A healthy and fresh Igawa is giving up 3-4 runs and not hurting us tomorrow with tired relievers. Putting in tired relievers and giving up 3-4 runs(like they did) hurts us tomorrow because extra rest could help Bruney, Henn and Vizcaino be ready to pitch against the Red Sox. -Jitpal

ccvle wrote:all im going to say is torre didnt killed proctor's arm or villone's arm last year. Proctor was going strong into august and september. Villone did suck after the all stars but historically villone just suck in the second half.
historically Torre has killed very prominant names in the Mid relief game over and over. I've seen Proctor improve immensely and all I notice is after 8 MRP appearances his arm by some coincidence is getting under his pitches and that causes the ball to sail on you.
Don't tell me Torre is not at fault for this.

Because Torre is supposed to plan on letting up 3-4 runs when he brings in each releiver. He wasn't giving up on this game. He wants to win a game not lose 6 straight going into that series. Plus we have Pettitte tomorrow who is on a weeks rest, gonna be good for 7 no matter what.

prominent names like who in recent years? paul quantrill is the closest one I can think of, but i wouldn't consider him prominent.

excuse me he's killed MRP left and right
Villone was more than solid last season
Tanyon Sturtze use to throw 96 mph
Quantrill was a solid MRP
Proctor was beat bown last year too
Mo was shut down too
Torre has been doing it for years, his time is slowly leaking out even look at his lineup moves and substitution patterns since Zimmer left , what move could you say yeah that was a great move ? He's done.

Please.
Villone always posted excellent(2 something) ERA in the first half then absolutely suck( +5era) in the second half.
Sturtze<----- you call this dude prominent? Out of his entire career,he was good for half a season.
Quantrill- he did suck badly in the second half in 04.
Proctor-again, last season, proctor was pitching strong into aug and sept. I think those two months were his best, except for april.

True or False did they not go to the DL because of Torre
True or False has Torre sucked this year as a decision maker
if all of this is true then what is going on here is your deciding w/ the heart.
