Honestly, I don't have a real good feeling about the Cal game. Plus, you never know which Maryland team will show up. I really don't have a good feeling about Memphis if they get by Cal. On the other hand, that's the kind of game they could win. A team they probably should beat (Cal) and they don't even show up (see UVA). A team that should probably paste them (Memphis) and there they are, kicking ass (UNC, Wake).

Who the hell knows with these guys.

And Dat, I wouldn't say that was wrong, it certainly doesn't make you a bad person. Just kind of odd. I don't hate Georetown, they just aren't my guys. Plus, my ex-wife went there, so that would account for little animosity.

With Cal being the best 3 point shooting team in the nation, I'm glad it's the Terps and not the Wizlets playing them.

Btw, I'm a JT3 fan, but it's nice to hear the bitterness from Gtown fans. :naaa:

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but... Memphis is down by 1 with 13:27 left. That'd be awful nice to play the 15th seed in the 2nd round.

Ya know... assuming we beat Cal. Not that we're looking past Cal.

I'm glad I put Mizzou knocking Memphis out in my bracket ... not to get ahead of myself.

From the game cut-in I'm watching, CS Northridge truly looks better than Memphis right now, up 62-56. Qucker, more physical, better guard play. No fluke they're ahead.

I actually have Marquette beating Memphis. I think they're a legit sleeper.

Who is this backup guard for Memphis - Roburt Sallie? His amazing shooting seems to be the only thing keeping them in the game. Is CSU just leaving him wide open - daring him to beat them by himself?

An inferiority complex? Because of Georgetown? I don't think so. Yea, we've had a few down years, but you guys reveled in it. And yea, the fact that we're excited to be in the tournament does indicate how bad things have gotten. Or, maybe that's because of the expectations brought on because of all the success Gary and Maryland have had, and recently. But, be that as it may, now we're back in and you aren't, and a little trash talk and it sounds like you're the one getting all defensive. Enjoy the NIT. Oh, forgot....all done.

And the past 6 years? Lets expand that window just a tad, like to 8 years, which isn't exactly an eternity ago, then we can tack on an ACC Championship, 2 Final Fours, and a National Championship.

Inferiority complex? Hardly.

LOL, you called me out bro. I'm not getting defensive about anything, it just looked bush league when you're calling out Hoya fans out for absolutely no reason. You acted like Maryland won the national championship just b/c they made it into the tournament. Big deal. They should be in the tournament every single year. I don't hate them, I don't hate Gary, they are all good guys. My dislike for the program stems from the fact that the local media slurps them up as the end all be all of college basketball in this area when they are probably 6-7 teams ahead of them. So much focus is put on a mediocre program that they ignore up and coming programs like a VCU who are worthy of hype.

No..you're not wrong for feeling that way.

In fact, I'm a fan of both programs as well.

But I have to say that I am amused by the gloating some MD fans are doing over the fact that G'town has had one bad season n 4 or 5 years.

Let's be honest, Vasquez is the only Terp who even could start on the Hoyas.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Terrific second half for the Terps.

They are the anti-Wizards. Heart, hustle, defense, and guys who get the most out of their ability.

Pretty much.

I just love making the Gary-haters eat crow. It was ridiculous hearing them all season saying how he needed to be fired. He's an elite-level coach. Recruiter? Hell no, but coach? You bet your ass he is.

And props to Vasquez. If I missed as many shots as he did during the last 15 minutes of the 1st half and the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half, I wouldn't keep shooting....but that's why I'm not a college basketball star. LOL.

Vasquez is supremely confident.

He tossed up an airball and the crowd started chanted "air-ball". What does Vasquez do? Goes right back on defense and gets a steal, goes coast-to-coast, lays it in for two points.

Then covers his lips with one finger with a gesture for the whole crowd to be quiet.

Huge stones.

I can't say how happy I am to see the Terps get an NCAA tourney win - this will do wonders for the program and hopefully (fingers & toes crossed) improve MD's recruitment woes.

Let's hope they keep it going - Sweet 16 anyone?

That's totally dependent on Gary.

I've had friends who've been recruited by Maryland in the past...I won't name names but the feedback I get about Terps recruiting is disappointing at best.

WOOOOO!!!!!

Wow...this has to be one of the most memorable MD teams ever. How great were Mosley, Bowie and the rest of the guards with their D on the perimeter? Randle was pretty great in the first and just completely disappeared in the second; gotta love that defensive effort. Hope the Wiz were watching and taking notes. I honestly think each and every one of our players had such great outings today. Cal was a legit team and gave us all we could handle. That being said, pretty cool to beat an out of conference school in the 2 biggest sports in one season ;)

We can finally get over that Butler loss from a couple years ago. All I wanted was a shot at Florida but we got screwed out of a win over a joke mid major. Now we have our shot at that powerhouse team that Gary is known to take down. I thinkk with the right gameplan, we could go out there and do something special on Saturday. Maybe even shock the world.

MARYLAND WE'RE ALL BEHIND YOU....

I'm so over the Butler loss that I don't even remember it.

Anyway, fun fact for MD fans (but not fun for Gary haters) - MD has now won 9 straight 1st round NCAA Tournament games.

:rofl2:

Well I guess that puts 7-8 teams ahead of Georgetown now doesn't it.

7 teams have national championships this decade. Maryland's one of them, and has two final fours and an ACC championship. Couple of down years and they're a mediocre program? Yea, ok. The results the last few years have been mediocre yes, but a mediocre program? Well where the hell would that put Georgetown? And no, I don't think Georgetown is a mediocre program,

I was calling for Williams head and I still believe he has to either get better recruiting assistants or sooner or later we are going to need a new head coach. Unfortunatly there are no GM's in College ball so as the head coach you have to be it all.

Gary does seem to have a knack for recruiting guards with Personality.
