3/19 Mavs @ Hawks

Post#1 » by ATL DirtyBird » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:09 pm

The Hawks are officially smokin! Were gonna need Joe to have a huge game and have Josh and Al somewhat contain the german sharpshooter. Hopefully we don't overlook the Mavs bc they're 8th in the west but still have 40 wins and also we play the Cavs on Saturday. it would be huge to get this win going into Cleveland even though were prob gonna get rocked by them.

Go Hawks!!!!! :D

Early line is Hawks by 5.5 with o/u around 196 (196.5 on some). That's a lot of respect for the Hawks to take care of business. Mavs haven't been good on the road lately (2-7 although the two wins were against Portland and Phoenix just a week ago). But the last time they were in the Southeast they beat Miami and Orlando.

Dallas is kind of a wildcard. But so are we. I could really see this game going any way.

This is the third 6 game winning streak for the Hawks this season. We've lost the previous two attempts to make it seven. If we win it'll be the longest streak the Hawks have had this decade.

Let's do it!

At home this is a game I think we will win.

Dallas were a lot better than I thought they would be this year, unfortunately that won't matter much in the western conference.

Hopefully the hawks Arent looking ahead to the cavs. I wanna see al and josh put up some points and boxout!!!! Can't let damp and bass get on the boards, and also try to contain that little bastard barea! Were gonna take the a for the longest win streak in a decade!

Good hustle by Mo but he just missed the rim on a layup attempt. I wish he would just dunk it.

The refs finally called goal tending. They've missed quite a few in the past couple of games where the defender hit the ball after it hit the rim/backboard.

Zaza and Flip have given us a nice lift off the bench. Hopefully Joe heats up when he comes back in.

16-0 run.

Is it me or is Joe Johnson showing more emotion than usual?

Flip with 14 so far in the first half. Pretty dramatic turnaround.

Interesting fact-the last time a coach got thrown out vs the Hawks was the game vs Jersey where we blew a 20 point lead.

if the mavs come back i will hang myself. Good half though. Hopefully we can tigten up the D in the post againts Hollins on the lob, and maybe prevent Bass from getting wide openshots all the time even though I dont mind if he shoots them.
Put ur foot on their throats Hawks and finish this game strong!!

The Mavs STILL haven't shot a free throw despite the personal fouls being even.

That reversed call on Dirk's 3 was a joke. There is no way they would have reversed the call had he missed the shot.

What is the point of a flagrant 1 foul if they don't call it for situations like that?

Edit:never mind they finally called it.

Those shots by Joe really stabilized the team. Joe has actually shot pretty well these last 2 games outside of going like 0-13 in the 1st quarter.
