this thread is to track the team(s) that are ahead of us for the 8th spot. Post here to discuss their progress on a nightly basis.

so far so good. ATL goes on huge 2nd Q run to lead at halftime 56-45. Need DAL to lose tonight and tomorrow and us win tomorrow. that will put us back 2.5 games.

i dont see them loosing at indiana, but after that they play GS, denver, and cleveland. That is a hard schedule for them. Hopefully we handle our business, if we continue to win we still have a chance.

It'd be very sweet to kick dallas out of the playoffs...

I was thinking the Suns can still lose 3 more games (as long as one of the losses is not @Dallas) and still make the playoffs, but after looking at the remaining schedules again I think it's 2.

Suns can lose only 2 games but even then we might still not make the playoffs. Dallas has alot of home games left in april and they are really hard to beat at home.

I was hoping a week ago that Suns would be within 3 games of Dallas with about 10 games left. Now we are within 3 games with 13 games to play. So we can seriously be 2 games behind Dallas with 10 games left pretty soon.

I mean PHX might still have a shot at the 8th spot, it's not over yet, especially with the way Mavs has been playing lately. If somehow Phx can win in Dallas,it's going to be really close.

losing barbosa for possibly 3 weeks doesn't help though.

it's very possible that the Mavs will lose 8 more games(including the one vs us) which means the max number of game we can afford to lose is 4

looking at our remaining schedule it's pretty tough but definitely doable

We cant afford to even lose 3 games. Max is 2 games because Dallas plays 8 home games and 5 road in their remaining 13 games.

I have a feeling alot of PHX fans will be paying close attention to this game. Things will get very interesting if DAL loses tomorrow. Lets go IND!

Just think of it this way, the Suns need to beat Dallas in Dallas to have a chance at the playoffs anyway, and if they do they win the tiebreaker. Other than that, only two games need to be made up. Very doable, but like I said they can probably only lose two more (with neither being the one in Dallas) or possibly three more with luck.

"If the Mavs struggle a little bit and finish the season 7-7, they would conclude the season with a 48-34 overall record. That means that the Suns would need to go 11-3 the rest of the season while beating the Mavs in Dallas on April 5 to make the playoffs. If the Suns finish the season tied with the Mavs, they would most certainly hold the tiebreaker over Dallas (best record against Western Conference). " (http://www.nba.com/suns/news/playoffwatch_090315.html).

with that said DAL already dropped 1 game meaning they have to go 8-5 the rest of the way and PHX 11-3 including a win @ DAL.

Indiana can most definitely pull the upset over Dallas. They have beaten a plethora of playoff teams so far.
