Nice game from McGee. Still flails around a lot but lots of flashes. Blatche is looking reliable. Still not good enough to take over for Jamison though.
Would really like to know why the three point defense sucks so much.
He doesn't have to replace him as much has play next to him or CB.
When we get everyone back we will be a good team. We should be marginally better then we were before but still have a hump to get over to be elite and that will have a lot to do with GA. If he returns Hibatchi we won't be great unless he moves to SG and we get a mature PG. Basically we have a better DMAC with McGee as raw talent instead of a mature Mason at SG. Long term we are better off but short term, we are missing a Mason SG unless GA moves there then we have upgraded.
We are still headed in the right direction though. We have pieces. We have an owner willing to go over to cap while we are building the final product. The next 2 years should be very interesting. This is what we have been building up to. First we have to evaluate what we have when healthy. Then we need to make the needed moves to complete the product.
We should be competitive again next year then it will be make or break getting to the next level. We should be a middle of pack playoff team with upside
This is a big summer for a lot of young players.
Example. Crit is a fine trapping spark player off the bench but will he be more then that.
McGee is a freak but can he develop a game with all that talent. I think yes but when ?
DMAC needs to keep adding to his shot
Nick needs to keep developing his 3 and a complete pro game that is reliable.
OP is even still in the running. He has skills.
Then its going to be about GA, CB and AJ. How do we use them. Do they all stay. Can we get one to come off the bench ? Do we add a vet PG ? Again, that has to do with Gil. I think we need to go one way or the other with him. He either needs to be a Chris Paul or be needs to move to SG. We don't need an AI. That is a loosing formula. Maybe he can balance his 2 roles.
And for all the Blake Griffin love, I'm not sold on him yet. Granted, I haven't seen him play a lot. It's just a gut feeling. I can't really put any logic to it. I think he will be good just not sure he will be great as in #1 great. But again, it's just a gut thing. I haven't seen him much. I just don't see him here.
LOL. Just watching the 4th again. When McGee drove hard to the hoop at 3min CB jumped off the ground and Haywood was hooting. They really liked to the strong baby hook to the hoop. That should be his move. Hopefully we see more of that move before the year is out. Just a guess, but I think Haywood thought him that. That is a Haywood move and it explains why Haywood was so excited to see him pull it off. Having Haywood in practice should really start to help McGee.
Actually, if McGee can get close to as good as Haywood ASAP, we should be dangerous. Either we are way deeper at center then we have ever been or we get to see some Haywood and McGee and even Haywood, McGee, Blatche, DMAC, GA. That should be nasty.
Actually all kinds of line ups good be nasty
Haywood, McGee, AJ, CB, GA
Haywood, McGee, DSong, DMAC, GA
Next year should be very interesting.
