I would think the score would be more meaningful for QBs and ILBs. The article doesn't mention requirements for all the positions, though. What's funny is that Delmas scored a 12, too, so the two guys a lot of us were targeting are basically idiots. My google search found that Bennett and Hester both scored 18 but I don't know if that's official.
Seriously - a 12 score is basically borderline (Please Use More Appropriate Word).
Stafford scored a 38. Sanchez scored 27.
There are times where I'd like to have a Wonderlic score minimum threshold for the RealGM boards.

Re: Bears schedule Private workout for Hakeem Nicks
As a side note, this where Earl Bennett's 18 score got him :

So if Nicks got a 12, does that mean he'll learn the playbook by Week 11? Where's my conversion chart ?

"I struggled [learning] the plays last year," Bennett said Wednesday. "I was lethargic because of it. It probably took me until Week 6, Week 7 to pick them up.
"Toward the end, I started grasping the concepts. Once you put things aside and just play, you can play a lot faster."
So if Nicks got a 12, does that mean he'll learn the playbook by Week 11? Where's my conversion chart ?

Re: Bears schedule Private workout for Hakeem Nicks
That's a riot - the Wonderlic is dead on accurate - Bennett and Hester both scored 18 and NEITHER could figure out the plays their first year lining up as a receiver. So that's the minimum for an NFL receiver for a one year shirt in order to learn the plays. Nicks got a 12???????
(btw - I think you can lose the sig on draft night)

At least Hester had the excuse of being a converted DB. What's Bennett's excuse?? That's just beyond troubling that we wasted a whole year because he couldn't figure out the plays. All the more reason we shouldn't be counting on him in 2009 but....guess what?....he's your starter at WR2 if the season started tomorrow.

Phew. Is that NBA draft night or NFL draft day?

Re: Bears schedule Private workout for Hakeem Nicks
Wiki :
So 18 is ABOVE AVERAGE for a WR.
WOW !!!
So Devin Hester and Earl Bennett are smarter than the average security guard and Hakeem Nicks isn't fit to work in a warehouse.
This assessment roughly corresponds to examples from Paul Zimmerman's The New Thinking Man's Guide to Pro Football. According to Zimmerman, examples of average scores for each position are:
Offensive tackle - 26
Center - 25
Quarterback - 24
Guard - 23
Tight end - 22
Safety - 19
Linebacker - 19
Cornerback - 18
Wide receiver - 17
Fullback - 17
Halfback - 16
So 18 is ABOVE AVERAGE for a WR.
WOW !!!
While an average football player usually scores around 20 points, Wonderlic, Inc. claims a score of at least 10 points suggests a person is literate.[8] Furthermore, when the test was given to miscellaneous people of various professions, it was observed that the average participant scored a 24. Examples of scores from everyday professions included:
Chemist - 31
Programmer - 29
Journalist - 26
Sales - 24
Bank teller - 22
Clerical worker - 21
Security guard - 17
Warehouse - 15
So Devin Hester and Earl Bennett are smarter than the average security guard and Hakeem Nicks isn't fit to work in a warehouse.

Seem like the more athletic the position eht lower the EXPECTED score - who wrote that test Andy "Zimmerman" Rooney?

Not sure, probably around 4.8ish actually, but I have close to a 30 inch vert.

A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."
