Who will we play in first round? Phi or Chi?

Lets look at the schedules:

PHI
36w-33l
7home (Min,Cha,Atl,Mil,Det,Cle,Bos)
6away (Det,Njn,Cha,Chi,Tor,Cle)

Philly just finished 5 game West road trip with 3-2 score. The last 13 games they have very hard schedule, but with Detroit struggles and Chicago with 5 more losses I think they will remain 6th.

DET
34w-35l
5home (Lal,Phi,Cha,Njn,Chi)
8away (Chi,Was,Cle,Njn,Phi,Ny,Ind,Mia)

Since R.Wallace injury(7games)+ Hamiltons injury(4 games) Detroit is 2-5 in last 7 games. They play at Chicago today and have LAL home game next.If both players dont return soon they could finish 8th, threatened by Charlotte for last playoff spot. I hope they finish 8th because they would cause a lot of problems to Cleveland!

Chicago has the easiest schedule and is very strong at home. Prior to LAL loss they won 7 a row at home.The both home and away games with Detroit will determine who will finish 7th, they even have a chance to finish 6th because Philly has a really hard schedule)

The only team I don't want to face in the first round is Philly. I think Philly could be this years version of Atlanta. I really think if Orlando ends up facing Philly in the first round they will be bounce outs. So the Cs will play Philly at some point I just don't want to see then in the first round. Other then that I really could care-less who we play.

right now it would be Detroit. No matter how you slice it, whether we finish 2nd or 3rd, we're going to have to play Philly or Detroit and then Orlando. Tomorrow's game against orlando is important not only to keep homecourt in the 2nd round but also to send a message to orlando that we can beat them down there. last night the knicks imploded down the stretch and orlando hit a bunch of 3's to pull out the victory. that is where we have to guard them- at the 3 point line. If we give them a lot of open 3's they'll beat us. Howard is tough but he can't beat us by himself. We need to shut down their shooters. If we do that we should be able to beat them since I htink our inside game is stronger. It would be nice if Pierce showed up with a little more energy and focus after taking the last 3 games off.

I'm sooooo ready for the playoffs. Too bad I'll miss alot of the games due to work. I have a different job now than I did last year. I usually don't get off til 10 or 11 most nights, so hopefully I'll be able to work my schedule around the playoffs, but I doubt it considering the scheduling of the playoffs.

I think our easiest opponent in the first round would be chicago. I don't wanna play detroit, just b/c they have Rip and they are a rivalry. I don't wanna play Philly b/c it could turn into Atl part 2. We almost beat chicago IN chicago without any frontcourt players for a whole quarter.

Hoping we don't get Detroit in the first round. They aren't the Pistons of last year but if they put it all together they can be a dangerous first round matchup.

...or not. Detroit is the least scary team of those 3 to me, honestly...

Haha. The 76ers would bounce Orlando out in the first round. :rofl:

Anyways, as a Magic fan I hope you guys get Detroit and embarass them.

we wont have another "Atlanta" this time around, we have gone through a full playoffs as a team and wont be surprised by a team coming out and hitting us with energy and aggression.

I just dont want detroit cause they would take the biggest toll physically, especially on Ray... we beat whoever it is in 5 IMO

Ya I dont know MO I think even though they have been sucking lately with a healthy R.H they can make a good run at it.
But I would rather play the 6ers first.

Well, that's why I was hoping we get #1 seed, because the Cavs are looking like this:

Cavs vs Bulls

Cavs vs Hawks/Heat [too close to call]

Cavs vs Celtics

Cavs vs Lakers

LA on the other hand

LA vs Dallas

LA vs New Orleans

LA vs Spurs

LA vs Celtics

However, it should be noted that the West is really close from #2 onwards so a lot can change in terms of match ups, but the East looks set.

More I look at the standings and the schedules I think Chicago sure will finish with better record than Detroit. Without Wallace and Hamilton Detroit is 60% of the team now, also add Iverson of the bench who is also injured.
And when healthy I think they are maybe still the 4th best team in East. Just remember how they played in one stretch when they won away at Orlando, Boston...the can play like the old pistons, team basketball, sharing the ball, great defense. I think they are capable of beating Cleveland in first round.

Boston-Chicago
Boston-Orlando

Cleveland-Detroit
Cleveland-Atlanta

If the first two rounds would look like this it is better to be second at least for first two rounds.

Great...it looks that Detroit will finish 8th...Cleveland beware

Looking the schedules I think we will finish 3th. Chicago probably will stay 7th...so we are left with Philly or even Miami.

It sure will be interesting in this last 3 weeks.

Pistons look like they will/want to finish 8th,they haven't been the same since lebrons beat them in 07, they want to upset them and I hope they will,imagine a rematch in the eastern finals between boston and detroit.

Healthy Detroit will be very, very dangerous is first round. And with Cleveland playing first 2 games at home after being almost unbeatable(1 loss to LAL) imagine if Detroit wins on at Cleveland...than we sure have a 7 game series.
