I think Rubio's going to be star for simply reason that no teenager is supposed to have such a great feel for the game and understanding of how a team is supposed to operate. This kid isn't a great athlete and his jumper is ugly, but his vision is incredible and his instincts are ridiculous. He looks like a 25 year old out there with this heady play. Once he turns that jumper into a smooth and efficient weapon he'll be a beast despite not being a freak athlete.

The stuff Rubio is doing now is "street balling" is straight from NYC, so it's funny how he's compared to Pete Maravich who also was "inspired" by watching inner city kids play. I love how they say "oh he's doing moves at 17 year old that no one is doing" then I go look at highschool games and I see the same thing.

what will be a good barometer is how well Brandon Jennings plays overseas...if he destroys the competition then that will be proof

Rubio is going to be very, very good, but to be fair here Rubio does NOT dominate anyone in Europe.

then again, no one does. Just a different game and different structure, there rarely is someone "dominating" .
And boys he did dominate.

Lots of people dominate in the young ages national teams in Europe. There's nothing unusual about that. Again, Rubio is for real, but there is mostly just hype being talked about him. Dominant players in European top club level basketball were guys like Drazen Petrovic and Nikos Galis. Rubio, as good as he can be, is not in that class.

WRONG AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Drazen Petrovic one of the best euro players at the same age as Rubio was avg. 16 pts in a much less deeper league than the spanish. Rubio despite his slow start due to his injure is avg. 9.3 and 6 assist per game.

Rubio is not dominant in the ACB. I have my opinion on what the term "dominant" means. IMO the term dominant does not apply to Rubio in the ACB.

Most of the young players work their way through junior leagues hopping to get to the ‘first team’ (professional level). Drazen had a different plan. He entered ‘first team’ of Sibenka when he was only fifteen years old. The players on the team were 10-15 years older than Drazen, but he wasn't intimidated by their experience nor by basketball knowledge.

so having very similar stats, same age, with very similar acomplishments as Drazen Petrovic doesnt tell you something?

I stated it already. Rubio is for real but he is not IMO dominant in the ACB. If you disagree with that it is your opinion. But simply put my opinion is he is most certainly not dominant in the ACB. If you disagree, you disagree.

You were the one comparing Rubio to them, Rubio might not be dominant but nor were two of the greatest europlayers of all time at his age.

Please show me where I said "at his age". Why are you arguing with me about something I never said?

Look, my point is that, Rubio is as dominant now as the best euros were at his age. Which should be a clue to the potential of the guy.

Here you go

I never said anything about "at his age". I obviously never said anything like you claim I did. And a national team has nothing to do with a club team and a youth competition has nothing to do with a pro league.

But hey, I guess a high school AAU game or even better yet an American FIBA youth tournament is the same as the NBA. Jordan was dominant in the NBA, which of course is the same thing as the fact at age 16 some random guy in the US was "no better than him".

And all of this coming at me when I clearly said Rubio is good......................

But...how can you compare an 18 yo Rubio to a 28-30 years old Nikos Galis? What its so great about Rubio is that he is doing all those things being only 18!

I am just going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that there is some sort of massive language barrier here.
