Kobe's house keeper suing Kobe

Post#1 » by TonyMontana » Wed Mar 25, 2009 9:35 pm

Great timing lady, all we need is this garbage and NOW..............

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090325/ap_ ... H6EYsLMxIF

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Kobe Bryant's former housekeeper is suing the NBA star and his wife, contending she was "harassed and humiliated," denied health insurance and forced to quit because of "intolerable" working conditions.

In one instance, Maria Jimenez says Bryant's wife ordered her to put her hand in a container of dog waste to retrieve the price tag of a blouse.

Jimenez filed suit Friday in Orange County Superior Court. She says in court papers that Vanessa Bryant "badgered, harassed and humiliated" her in front of Bryant, the couple's children and others. She said the couple failed to provide health coverage, as promised when she was hired. She said she didn't learn she didn't have it until she became ill and sought medical attention.

The action seeks unspecified general, punitive and special damages, as well as back pay and overtime Jimenez says she is owed. The lawsuit was first reported by tmz.com.

Rob Pelinka, agent for the Los Angeles Lakers star, did not immediately return a call.

Not commenting on the validity of the story or not -- could very well be total BS -- but that's like the fifth or sixth different item I've read that makes his wife sound like a total bitch. If true, that's a really lame way to treat somebody, especially hired help.

i just read the story. i don't know what to think. i have read other stories that said vanessa was a very crazy young lady. this is just another episode in the life of kobe bryant. the sad thing is this story is going to come down on him,and he really had nothing to do with it. oh well, the price we pay for fame...

On TMZ it just mentioned that Kobe is going to fight these allegations. But yes waiting a year after the fact doesn't exactly make me take her side here.

Meh, These are the types of things that I think are not so much our business. Its a family thing and really shouldnt effect him or the Lakers.

Yeah, if true, this is not the first story that makes Vanessa not look very good. It actually sounded as if Kobe was the peace maker sometimes, allegedly talking her out of quitting.

Yeah, this shouldn't affect him though. It's a personal thing and doesn't need to have a big deal made out of it.

An old gf of mine use to work at some place in South Coast Plaza (probably the most dreadful mall in all of the world), but I guess Vanessa used to shop there all the time...let's just say what we've read about her so far seems to be accurate.

Give me an effffffffffing break man. What the hell is wrong with America today?? I was raised in a third world country in Asia and if Kobe tells me to put my hand in a bowl full of his poop to retrieve a boston celtics jersey (that he pooped on) I will HAPPILY do it and never wash my hand again!!! I mean, how many people can say that he's touched the MVP's poop? none..

seriously, people are sooooooooooooooo spoiled these days!

^seriously, why would you want to eat Kobe's poop?

Anyways, if the reports about Kobe's wife are true, I'm wondering whether

1. crazy lady, insufferable wife, helped loosen Kobe's marital vows. I'm not saying an overly demanding wife justifies infidelity, just that it's more understandable. The mention of dog poop is interesting, since it's at the top of Kobe's list of things he hates. So, imagine Kobe watching said poor maid digging through his equivalent Orwellian rats to just return her Bad M-Fer Ed Hardy shirt. One can understand why he'd go on a long trip to see the "doctor." Not justified, but understandable.

On the other hand,

2. Kobe's infidelity induced his wife's frequent prima donna antics. One, as a defense mechanism due to a sense of powerlessness as she experienced stressful events such as her husband possibly facing criminal charges, the constant media scrutiny, etc. Or two, because she knows that Kobe will do anything for her to make up for what he did (purple diamond ring, vehemently defending her during the Karl Malone incident).

It may be inappropriate for me to comment on these things, as Phil said earlier, but i can't help but imagine. One day, I might get married, but these incidents tend to temper that sentiment.

I really hate it when this kind of news gets much press publicity but if people weren't interested in reading this stuff, TMZ wouldn't have any business.
