The Rules

Here's the deal - after each win, we'll have a player of the game thread. You post the top 3 performers (1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place). The top-3 vote-getters will receive points...

1st place = 3pts
2nd place = 2pts
3rd place = 1pt

At the end of the season, I'll tally up the point totals and put it into a thread. We should have a good idea of who was the most valuable player, at least according to Wizards fans. :D

The poll winner is for posterity only. It has no affect on the recorded winner. If you want your vote to count, post the top-3 performers.

Gotta be Antwan he keeps putting up consistent numbers. Although I do think Young's 2 rebounds 2 assists and 1 block should be recognized.

When Jamison stepped to the free throw line in the closing minute I knew he was going to miss the first shot. That miss almost cost us the game, so Young seems like the logical choice.

The fact that Jamison has been playing consistently also works against him. Young of the bench lighting up the Bobcats was the difference maker.

This isn't going to be an easy one.

Before Nick got it going Mike James was popping 3s and playing D. James also had a great game. +17

So AJ got it done coast to coast but

Mike was a big part of things also and NYs dunk and D really helped.

Actually Blacthe with pts, blocks and rounds really had a lot to do with this also. +7

I'll have to come back for my final vote.

Didn't see the game, but Young scoring 23 points in 24 minutes on 10-15 shooting seems a lot more impressive than Jamison scoring 27 points in 37 minutes on 11-22 shooting.

Going from the box score alone:
1. Young
2. Jamison
3. James

Besides, Young hasn't won a POTG yet.

Also didn't see the game, but voted for James as POTG because of the +17 and the full stat line with steals, assists, rebounds, points and threes. I know Nick's gonna win it, thus it's easier to give this one vote to James.

Next in line would be Young, then Jamison/Blatche in a tie for third.

I did watch the game and that is what I was pretty much getting at. This isn't an easy one. James did a lot to help us win. So did Nick, AJ and Blatche.

Nick has been playing a lot more solid as of late. He had a nice alley op and another give and go reverse dunk that gave us momentum. Also he fought on D. He got robbed on a great steal and was right there in that last sequence.

James nailing those 3s really loosened things up and changed momentum. He also had some steals that were key.

Blatche started off great. He had 7 boards and some blocks pts and hit is FTs. He had a rough spell but fought back and didn't give up. That is what people have been looking from him. He also showed some amazing handles. He really is a freak at his size to handle the ball the way he does.

And then there was AJ just leading the charge with effort and fight the whole game and he even had 3 assists and gave the young players credit after the game. He was a true leader.

For this one game, I can't really say one was more important then the other which is actually great. I would call a team win with 4 major contributors. This is actually what we want.

Divide my points across them if you can.

1. Young (the first time I've ever voted for him in a Zard's win)
2. Jamison
3. James

need to comment on this

Mike James actually had an outstanding game. There were at least a couple
times in the first half when things were hectic/crazy that James made situation
saving plays only to have someone else on the team ultimately fail to complete
the play or the sequence

If he played like this more often...if only.

1. Nick Young - ultra-efficient in limited minutes (even threw in some assists, rebounds, blocks and steals)
2. Antawn Jamison - Yawn...another solid game
3. Andray Blatche - still played soft basketball, but made some really nice moves

1. Young- Spectacular moves, clutch play, efficient what else is there to ask.
2. James- Along with a nice stat line, he kept the momentum going in our direction during the 3rd with som tough defense.
3. Jamison-Solid as usual, dont no why this guy gets the amount of critism he gets. Yes he has his flaws, but the man plays his heart out every night even when where sucking and have no chance at the playoffs.
