Isiah Meets With LAC About A Front Office Job

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Thu Mar 26, 2009 7:14 pm

Isiah Thomas is actively looking for a new job and met with Clippers' owner Donald Sterling about a front office position. The meeting was arranged by Mike Dunleavy.

Several NBA sources confirmed the February meeting to ESPN.com.

The talks were informal but substantive and there have been follow-up discussions.

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Please, no. Move the LAC to Anaheim, then he can join the team, keep him out of Staples please. He's a freaking cooler!"

Poor Clippers fans, first Donald Sterling and now Isiah Thomas? I feel sorry for them, deeply.

I think that's hilarious, it will definitely put the clippers in the news. Seriously, what DIDN"T Isaiah do wrong in NY? destroyed the team, got hit with a sexual harrassment suit, had public beef with multiple players, led them to a dreadful record. Why would the Clippers hire him?

That being said, I really hope they hire him. He's like the Kwame Brown of management, loveable, but just horrible at his job. I miss Kwame.

for the first couple of years, he was lauded for the turnaround in talent he brought in

Damn how can a person with such a track record get a job in this economy? I'd do the job for 1/10 th the money he's going to demand and I promise I wouldn't leave them worse than they already are!

why r people still trying to hire him. He's lucky even to have a job with the knicks.. He's a bball player.. can't be a coach nor a gm.. etc... Well it wasn't all his fault but he was the guy behind it all.

Maybe clippers needs some major publicity.. but other than that. bad move if they do sign him.

Yeah, but even his good trades he was paying twice as much as he should've. He set the Suns up with great cap space and even took on Penny Hardaway, gave the Bulls all kinds of picks, and cleared cap space for the Spurs. He was bringing in talent, but their cap number was skyrocketing daily.

My personal favorite trade was Moochie Norris, Vin Baker, and a 2nd for Maurice Taylor. The same exact day he traded for Malik Rose. I forget the exact numbers but they added something like $30 mil in this trade (money left on the 2 PFs contracts without taking into account the players traded). Two mediocre PFs in one day. These two trades were meant to help a playoff push (they failed) but it set them up with 0 centers, and one guy over 6'9". Who happened to be Tim Thomas who was averaging something like 3 rebounds a game. Had they somehow made the playoffs they would've had to have faced Shaq and the Miami Heat or the Detroit Pistons who had Antonio McDyess, Ben Wallace, and Rasheed Wallace.

The Clippers currently have the 2nd to lowest payroll in the NBA, a full season or two of Isiah...they would be top 10 guaranteed. If not higher

Bwahahaha... this would be hilariously awesome if I didn't feel even having him in the Staples center would bring bad karma to the Lakers.

Headline, "Dead hooker found in Kobe Bryants locker" "Clippers Gm pulls late night session to trade Kaman and Davis for Walter Herman, smells like cheap perfume and roofies at press conference"

Just another day at the office for Isiah.
