My preferential pick would probably be Odom, just because he's my favourite from that list. If we did get Odom or Marion for a few years, I would then package either Diaw or Wallace with Bell or whatever to try and upgrade our SG position. I've seem this idea mentioned before but that is easier said that done, there aren't many teams out there who are willing to trade their good SG's. We saw the offers we have been getting for Wallace/Felton etc. Adding Bell might sweeting a deal but the only viable options I can think of are Rudy Fernandez in a Portland package, we would obviously after more value than just him, maybe Frye but I am high on Rudy, the only other possibility I could think of was old man Vince Carter. You just can't expect to get value for value in major trades lately.

If we got Rasheed would you start him or Diaw??? I think I would start Diaw but I don't know how Rasheed would react to that. At least we would have some backup for when Diaw would have his poorer games.

Iverson I couldn't knock back for the mid level exception, but I haven't liked him for years. Just a personal opinion but I just don't see him as a winner anymore. I think he can stunt your team offense as he becomes a bit of a ball hog. The best games I've seen of the Bobcats are when the forward have a good number of assists and are sharing the ball, I don't see that happening with Iverson.

Sach, I agree a lot with your post. I can see making a trade. But I'd rather not put Raja in this trade. My reasoning is that we only have one really good SG in Bell. I do not consider Felton a SG in any sense. Ray is a PG, period. My hope is that we can maybe get that tall, good scoring shooting guard in this year's draft. I think that Portland is so enamored with amassing talent that they forget team chemistry in the process. They will eventually run out of room. Now if we can get Washington to trade that first rounder to us that they said they couldn't afford to pay for (you know, paying luxury taxes on Arenas' and Jamison's contracts). I'd rather pony up for a deal to get that # 1-5 pick. This might be our best draft opportunity since we traded up with the Clippers to get Emeka. If we did, SG is the first option--and in my opinion, the ONLY option we should consider.[/quote]

We should buy as many picks as possible. I would love to get Washingtons pick but I doubt they give it up.

I think it might be possible that any of 2011, 2012, 2013 or 2014 1st rounders might look reasonably attractive- assuming of course that Denver gets the 2010 1st. It leaves the cupboard bare for a few years, but Minnesota survived it. And we'll survive too- if the draft pick pans out, and Ajinca gains that bulk and strength to hold his own in the paint. Or, since there is a salary cap angle to this, why not give the Wizards the right to exchange picks with us as they might see fit in any of those four years as an inducement to not commit so much money to a draft pick?

Finally, something I can truly agree with you on. The way I see it in this draft, if you look at the teams picking from 20-30 http://www.nbadraft.net/2009mock_draft (to make it easier), then you have 4 teams that I think are likely to sell them (or maybe trade them for whatever, but not an active player). They are Utah, Portland, New Orleans, and Chicago. The Lakers and Cleveland are somewhat likely and then I think every other team is likely to hang onto them.

Who else do we owe a first rounder to besides Denver? We should trade it back from Denver while the econ still has people pannicked.

You guys didn't listen to BigSlam. He said 1 year. The answer is Iverson for 1 year.

Marion would make the least sence on this team. He has seriously declined and on top of that we don't need a sf whatsoever and LB will not want to run and he is only good when running and he is getting older and when he losses that athletism which is happening all he is gonna be is a backup sf who can hit the 3 with decent D and that's about it. That is not more then 2 years away.
