I didn't see the game (hopefully NBA TV will replay it later in the week and I'll catch it then) but the 6 boards and 4 blocks look good for only 20 mins of play.

And "only" 3 fouls.

He also got T'd up. It would appear our Lexy has some fight in him.

I should mention he was one of 7 (!) players to get a technical in the 4th quarter of that game.

Still needs a lot of work, so project is still the operative word with Jinx. Remember he's competing at D-league and struggling in many games. That is part of the learning process, but struggles here do not translate into success in the NBA at any level.

I hope he turns out to be a solid player for us.

Bass, you haven't watched a single second of his dleague game footage, right?

Walt, I've only watched a small portion, and admitedly it was not a good performance. I don't pretend to be an expert on Ajinca, and many of you see far more than I have. I'm pulling for the guy, believe me, cause we need production from a mobile big man badly.

"Struggling" isn't really accurate to me. Like most young players he is inconsistent and has some holes in his game. "Struggling" to me means Morrison style or Brezec Style play, not doing a single thing right.

There are some things he has been doing very well...

Good
Shot blocking/Steals
Rebounding
Free throw shooting

Hit-or Miss
Effieciency
Scoring

Bad
Defense
Fouling
Turnovers

Big game from Jinx tonight...
http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/boxscore.jsp?gameId=2020800379

19 pts
4/10 fg
11/13 ft
15 reb
4 bs
1 stl
2 pf
2 to
in 26:53

15 rebs in 27 minutes is great, even for the D-league.

Thanks e4.

The 13 fta's really stick out. Shows he was aggressive in the paint/trying to score. Only having the 2 pf's is also a huge plus.

6 of his 15 boards were offensive. Me likey that a lot.

I really think we are onto something with him.

I think he will eventually get cut from the D league. Isn't he in danger of getting cut from his olympic team? Bigslam that would be denial there. Your to smart to think Alexa is a good player.

I'm smart enough to know that he is a very young kid with little experience with a very unique skill set considering his size who is a total project and I don't expect to see anything too much from for the next 2 or 3 years.

If we don't seem some improvement in his body/ability to stay out of fouls over the next 2 years I'll start asking questions, but until then I am more than willing to let him learn and stay off his back until then.
