3/29 Lakers @ Hawks

Post#1 » by ATL DirtyBird » Sun Mar 29, 2009 1:56 am

Im not gonna make pictures for this game bc I know as long as this team is under Woodsons reign we will never be more than a 4 seed in an extremely weak conference. After the beatdown courtosy of the Celts I have come back down from cloud 9. I realize that these Hawks require all things to go there way for them to win, and as long as were not commited to defense we wont win consistently. The offense is becoming a joke, and for all the people who have preached that having Josh Smith on our team we will have to settle for the dumb mistakes he makes as long as he bring energy. Perfect example last night, he played a solid game with a double double but hurt us vitaly down the strech. Throwing running shot up after running shot, traveling, and making horrendous defenseive mistakes. Basically we should all expect a blowout, well at least I will. This team is much better IMO than the Celtcs, especially without KG and key pieces of their bench. If Glen Davis tore us up, what do you think Pau is gonna do.

LA favored by 3.5. O/U 200

I suppose Vegas expects us to bounce back from the recent performances.

By the line I guess Kobe's injury isn't bad. LA is still focused on best overall record. Not sure what the Hawks are focused on.

Are you saying J. Smith is hurting the Hawks? When did it start that I never realized it? He's got tremendous potential, he can be our franchise player. Yup, that high schooler who's clueles about basketball fundamentals. That's why we didn't trade him for P. Gasol. Who needs a 7ftr with great offensive skills and rebounding ability when you have one of the best athetes in the game. He can fly high, so high that some decisions he makes causes me to wonder if he isn't really high. But hey, Gasol couldn't take the Grizzlies to the promise land, Josh can take the Hawks there. Haven't you read those posts in the last 5 years? I'm very pissed off with this team. We struggled against the Cavs, Spurs, and Celtics, coincidently the top teams in the league. We do NOT belong with the big boys, that I know, so I'm expecting a blow out. The bleeding won't stop there. We'll get hammered in Philly tues. Now, I swear to GOD I will turn the TV off if JJ dribbles for like 15 secs on every possession. I can't believe this coaching staff is that bad.
GO HAWKS.

Last season these posts read "we will never make the playoffs with Woody as coach." Now we'll "never be more than a 4 seed" with him?

I can't blame Woody for us not being able to keep pace with Bos/Orl/Cle, those teams are just flat out better than us.

^^^OK the top 3 teams are cleary better than us, but how can any of us expect this team to ever blossum when our offense is ran through Joe who takes atleast 15 seconds off the clock, and is nothing but iso's. Last year we fought for the 8th seed, and now were fighting for the 4th seed with the exact same pathetic offense. The defense has picked up significantly but hasnt been good consistenlty, especially against the upper echelon of teams. I guess its wrong to expect us to beat those teams, but it would be wrong to expect for us to become of those top 3 seeds. Hopefully we will be able to develop the ability to win on the road, but that will come with time.

Im not gonna rule out us becoming great cuz we do have the pieces with all the potential in the world, but until the offense isnt strickly iso's we wont become the team we can be.

I hope to god that im proved wrong.

What I dont understand is that we can all point out the flaws in this team, and for the most part they can be helped or somewhat fixed, why cant the coaching staff see it and correct it? Theres is no reason that this team should still be running this retareded iso offense.

Even though Josh just drew a block by complete accident, why is he takingn the ball upcourt when he had JJ right next to him? IDK why the lakers are taking advantage of their matchup againts Josh who cant stay in front of Lamar at all.

Will Mr Potato Head ever realize that Mario needs more minutes? Hes the only player who we can rely on to make those awesome hustle plays. Beautiful put back Rio!

Once again Mario comes in and changes the game. He gets a couple of buckets and the bench is up cheering and the crowd is rocking. KEEP HIM IN THE ROTATION WOODY!

What bothers me is Mario just played excellent defense and Kobe just made a tough shot, and it seeemed like more people are cheering for Kobe than for the Hawks. Our fan base needs help ASAP
