There lies the disagreement. I wasn't complaining. I was making an observation.
We wouldn't be in the position to have such a great shot at Griffin with an NBA-caliber head coach.

Or more importantly... most of our quality starters such as a center, a PG or a SG.
What I'm saying is, you could have had Phil Jackson here and we still wouldn't have won given the injuries we had this year. You can't measure this year by wins.

hands11 is too funny.
He talks about all of our players as if they are bonafide studs. If they are so good why are we 17-58?
Simply adding Gilbert and Haywood is not the full answer to transforming this team into a championship-caliber team.

Whatever. The only two positives I see is that Gil is no longer a huge questionmark and that this horrific season is almost over.
As a fan, I think its perfectly acceptable to bitch about a team that's friggin 17-58.
Outside of Gil and Haywood, this collection of players wins at a 22% clip. You can praise crappy play and outright horrible coaching all you went, the facts make your notions absolutely ridiculous.
Truth is not one our young guys have truly established themselves. Blatche is still soft as charmin and his effort is still question. You don't know what your getting quarter to quarter, much less game to game.
Young is still nothing more than a high volume shooter, that's so incapable of contributing in other facets of the game that he couldn't wrestle away a job from one of the worst starting SGs in league history (DeShawn Stevenson), or a completely inept offensive player in McGuire.
Speaking on McGuire. I love the guy's work ethic and versatility and appreciate his contributions in terms of rebounding & defense. But scoring 0 pts while playing 41 minutes & not scoring a single point in over 84 minutes of basketball is downright unacceptable. I don't care who you are or what else you bring to the table. Even Michael Ruffin never accomplished such offensive ineptitude. He's getting the most minutes of any of our young guys yet he's probably offers the least in terms of production. I had hope for him in a Jared Jeffries sort of role but my gosh, he's been such a non-entity on offense one has to wonder if he really has much of an NBA future outside of a 3rd string bench warmer.
Critt appears to work hard and has had some decent moments but I've yet to see anything in his play that should indicate he's anything more than a 10-12 minute backup for Gil. He's athletic and has a good handle but a PG he's not. He might look okay in that role to us b/c we've had to watch so much of Mike James this year but without a jumper or better decision making, I'm still wondering if dealing AD & a 1st for him was really the right move. Especially since were stuck with James now.
We all know Pech is a bust, and his lack of playing time indicates the organization thinks so as well.
The only guy I can get excited about is McGee. And for all his talent, he's still a huge work in progress, but can seemingly only get minutes when everyone else is out with an injury. I'm not sure he's ready for a backup role to Wood next year, and it would have been real nice if he could have gotten a chance to develop a bit out on the court when it really wouldn't have hurt us this year. Everyone around the league says the same thing, why isn't this kid playing more? I'm sure your boy E-
Tap could give us some ridiculous answer on that as he has in the past.
Bottom line, stop trying wining and bitching about folks wining and bitching. And stop trying to tell everyone the grass is green and the lawn looks great when dirt patches everywhere and weeds are growing nonstop.
We just gave up 124 to Indiana. A 30 win team. We also gave up 29 points and 10 rebounds to friggin Brandon Rush of all people. That's beyond disgusting. Outside of Gil & Wood, this team, this roster is dreck. Admitting that would be the best thing that this joke for a franchise could do.

Actually, your funnier then you realize because your just making stuff up.
I have no idea what your referencing in your above statement but adding GA and Haywood is huge move in the right direction. If you don't think so that's fine. You'll have to see for yourself. I never said it was the full answer so your arguing with yourself not me on that one.

By the way you talked about our players above you'd figure that we were a first place Championship-caliber team. When in fact we are one of the worst teams EVER!

Re: Wizards @ Pacers (3/29)
seems to me the truth lies somewhere inbetween Dat and Hands.
We really and truly did suck this year and the players we have
are responsible for what happens on the court. That said, a significant
portion of the players we had playing this year, will not be playing
nearly so much next year. They had to play outside of their roles
and their youth in some cases, their limitations in others and/or
some combination of the 2 led to 17 wins/22% winning %age.
Getting 2 more than solid on average starters back next year, one
a potential allNBA player, and a high draft pick, moving role players
back to the roles to which they are suited, could make for a dramatically
different season. That and greater experience on the part of the youth
movement. What we saw this year was that 2 semi-allstar fwds could
not overcome really sub-average players almost everywhere else.
