Hypothetical trade idea (Bogut/#1 for Love/Thabeet pick)
We're having a debate on this on our board.
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=893861&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=60
Milwaukee: Receives T-Wolves pick (assuming it is Thabeet (i.e. 2nd or 3rd overall pick in 2009 draft) and Kevin Love
T-Wolves: Receive Andrew Bogut and Bucks 2009 1st (likely the 10th pick)
Who wins that trade and why? Would you guys do it?

Re: Hypothetical trade idea (Bogut/#1 for Love/Thabeet pick)
I wouldn't do it.
Bogut may be better than Love now, at least defensively and position scarcity, but a $12 mil Bogut is not better than a $3.5 mil Love + $8.5 mil in additional production. Love is younger and locked into that rookie deal for 3 years. To put it another way, for the price you pay Bogut for 1 year, we get three year's of production from Love.
And of course, Thabeet > MIL's pick 9-11

I think it's quite overpaying for Bogut. If the Wolves got 2nd or 3rd overall, I'd hope they'd use it on Rubio, Harden, or keep Thabeet for themselves and field offers for Love.

By the way, you MIL fans have the best debates, and the most humorous team board at RealGM.

That's very much overpaying for Bogut. I'd definitely hold on to Love and Thabeet.
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

Very much so overpaying. Even if the pick was higher. Love and Bogut have debatable value difference based on age and cost compared to relative skils.

Agreed. The whole Sessions/Alexander for Conley thread was not only a great and long debate (66 pages last i remember) but it was also hilarious.
I wouldnt do it. The only way i consider it is if Rubio declares and the Bucks take hostage of him. Even then i doubt it.

I'd do it and then draft Patty Mills with the bucks first, because the Wolves would get way more coverage over here.

We have to be humorous, because if we weren't, we'd be crying and that would show weakness.

It ended up getting to 114 pages.

nah, Bogut is more sound on the defensive end and obviously bigger, but Love's scoring/rebounding potential is too enticing for me. I think he's gonna have a huge offseason

I'd rather have Love than Bogut and obviously would rather have the Wolves pick than Milwaukee's. No chance I'd do this deal.

Re: Hypothetical trade idea (Bogut/#1 for Love/Thabeet pick)
To agree with all the above thoughts of my fellow MN board posters, wouldn't make the trade due to financial and talent losses in value for the Wolves.
Also, as much as I begrudge complimenting our rivals to the east, the MIL board is one of the best. Great posters, great information, and, as mentioned before, funny as hell. Feel free to pop in here whenever. Those here are more than happy to give their opinions, most of them are wrong, especially when they don't agree with me, but they are happy to stick to their guns and go down in a blaze of glory.

+2 on Mil board being the funniest. That Bogut wearing the suit thread was damn hilarious, and most of their posters have a sense of humor.

Some of them are a little delusional though on player value.
This same trade was debated on their forum as a Bogut vs Thabeet and Love vs Blair, and many stated that Love was barely better than Blair. Really? Seriosuly? That is kind of funny. Not really ha ha funny, though.

Well, you do have to cut them some slack. They are from Wisconsin and all. Too much cheese and beer can do weird things to you, just look at Devilz, and he isn't even necessarily from Wisconsin.

Even if he was guaranteed to average 25 and 12 here, I'm not trading for the guy who once gave himself a high five.

That was classic. No one would give him a high five. The Bucks were a mess last season. But that's what happens when your vet leaders are Redd and Mo Williams.
