UPDATE: Plax Released!

Post#1 » by krustytheclown » Wed Dec 3, 2008 12:16 am

Plaxico Burress' season is officially over.

The New York Giants just put him on the reserve list and suspended him for four games "for conduct detrimental to the team," meaning his season is toast. It's actually the second time the self-shooter has been suspended by the Giants this year.

Burress also faces felony weapons charges -- and three and a half years in the slammer.

....

make a move for boldin or houshmanzada this guy is causing too much trouble...i was willing to look the other way the first few times but this is the end of the line

Thread title edited.

Yup, he's done. Look for him and Vick to resurface with the Raydahs next season.

krusty, if we got boldin that would be awesome, insane, ridiculous and very improbable. look for us to either permanently give hixon the no 1 spot where he is proven and hope manningham can take over from toomer wen the time comes or pursue ppl through the draft and free agancy to play the no1 spot then move hixon to no 2 wen toomer leaves. or we could trade, like you said we could possibly get houshmanzada who would be good. other options through trade IMO are someone like brandon marshall who is 6 ft 5 like burres who would be great but i assume it unlikely the broncos would consider a trade.

Unless Plax goes to jail, he's going to be a Giant next year. Book it.

Boldin-No, he doesn't fit our needs. He's more of a possesion receiver, we need a deep threat receiver

Housh- No, like Boldin. He's a possesion receiver, I'm not even convinced hes a #1. And he's going to be 31 next season

Brandon Marshall- , Why would Denever trade him? He's Cutlers guy

The perfect WR for the Giants is................................ Plaxico Burress
We don't need a receiver whose 6'2 and under, we need a tall WR, who can go deep, and catch jump balls in the endzone..... which sounds a lot like a guy we have.... and won the superbowl with and are a elite team with.
Only WR I would keep a eye on, because he might want out. Is Breylon Edwards in Cleveland, he's the closest thing to what we need is if we need to replace Plax and is having having a down year.
I would also check if we can get Chad Johnson for cheapp, like a 4th rounder.

Re: UPDATE: Plax Case...

Post#10 » by mjhp911 » Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:20 pm

Plax's gun case was adjourned 'til June. I think this hurts his chances of playing with us this season, because he remains in 'limbo' 'til then. Better call up the Cards and the Browns again, Jerry. Or start thinking of moving up on day 1 for one of the studs at wideout...

NEW YORK -- A gun possession case against New York Giants star Plaxico Burress was adjourned Tuesday until June.

Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh with an unlicensed gun he'd stuffed into his waistband at a Manhattan nightclub last year.

The star receiver, wearing a gray suit and a light blue shirt, arrived at Manhattan Criminal Court in the company of his wife and his attorney, Benjamin Brafman.

Both sides agreed to adjourn the case to June 15 following a brief hearing before Judge Michael Yazinsky. Burress' bail was continued.
