You don't have to use the MLE but you are limited to a 20% raise on the previous years salary. Marbs money this season was about the hit he took to leave the Knicks it has nothing to do with next year. I don't think there is going to be a scenario were Sheed and Marbury are in Boston.

I guess it is going to come down to what the demand for Sheed and Marbss is AND what there frame of mind is about the possibility of becoming Celtics on the cheap.

Sheed- Do you think anyone is going to offer more than the MLE? A team under the cap or by sing and trade? I'm thinking we can throw this option out but I could be wrong. After that it is all about fit. Can he start for the Spurs? Is he looking for big numbers or big wins? Can he get both anywhere? One idea that has crossed my mind would be to offer him (at least a shot at) the starting center spot. This could backfire by upsetting Perk but it could be the key to getting him or even getting him cheaper.

Marbs- We can defiantly throw out the idea of him making more than the MLE. We can't facilitate a sign and trade like that and no one under the cap is going to want him. The question really becomes do any good teams want to give him the starting spot? If not then I don't see why he wouldn't come back here.

I think we probably can get Sheed and keep Marbs but I want to hear more thoughts on the notion. I very well could be wrong.

I think its possible that will be what Danny aims to do, Keep Steph and Sign Sheed... but it will all depend on money and situation.

No one is going to offer either more than the MLE, but that also means there are probably 10-15 teams offering Sheed and a few will for Marbury (Miami seems like the most obvious one)

I would lkove to have Steph on this team with an off-season under his belt, he looks good as is being just thrown in to an already set team, with a full off-season he could be deadly for us off the bench

I could see CHA throwing a lot of money at Wallace, hell I could see CHA trading Gerald Wallace for Rasheed Wallace in a S&T. He is still worth 10 mil a year maybe only for one or two more years but he is still a hell of a big man. That said no way you give him Perk's job especially since what you want him to do is be the back up at the 4/5.
