TD looks terrible. No lift, no explosion, no quickness.

Manu is nowhere to be found and likely won't be himself.

Even if Manu is self when he returns, doesn't matter if TD looks this bad.

We've lost two recently we should have won and are finding ways to lose games we had. It should be the opposite at this point in the season. Instead, we found ways to win close games early in the year and are tending to lose those games now down the stretch.

Maybe we peaked too early cause a couple of months ago, I thought we looked great.

Maybe the Spurs are cruising here to keep from burning their energy by the time the playoffs come around. Either way, it's no excuse to lose these two close games they had the opportunity to win.

The most frustrating thing is at full strength, we're a title threat. But the way things are going we'll be lucky to beat anyone in the playoffs.

We just look flat out there. Watching games lately has been painful. SM I agree, maybe we did peak too early, we were looking really good a few months back.

We kind of limped into the postseason last yr as well, and it finally caught up with us in the WCF.

It would be unfortunate if history repeats itself. The Spurs always had the tendency to win the title in the odd seasons rather in the even season.

I may be in the minority here but I feel things arent as bad as they seem.

For one, the Spurs are looking like the Spurs of old. We're playing our games in the 80's an only losing by a few points. Sure our offense looks putrid but our defense has been very very solid. To be honest I'm more at ease now than when our team was slaughtering teams with a high powered offense.

Ginobili should be back within the week and hopefully Pop ends this diasterous experiment with Mason at point. The only thing that really worries me at this point is the health of Tim Duncan. We must remember that he managed to get the job done on practically one foot in 2005, so anything is possible.

The key is Manu, with him back carrying some of the offense, we will be less inclined to keep TD out on the floor as long esp with Gooden on the bench.
It'll will give TD some rest coming into the playoffs.
Luckily we are playing winning defense and when we get Manu back into the fold we can add another cog to our offense and drag ourselves out of this slump.
Extremely bad timing yes but season ending slump i don't think so.

Spurs #1. We're still winning the title.

That's three games now recently we found a way to lose.

Don't buy that "just cruising" business either. Everyone knows Pop likes to treat the last 15 games of the regular season as playoff warmups. That Houston game Sunday was a playoff atmosphere game, bit time. And we lost it and it will probably cost us the Division title and as close as things are in the West, maybe even more than that if we drop below #4.

The team has more to worry about than the division title. Stuff like that is just a stepping stone to get to what they need to go, the champs.

The Division title is ours to lose. Has been ours to lose most of the season and as recently as the all-star game time, our #2 seed was ours to lose. For us to lose the #2 seed and the Division title speaks volumes about that supposed stepping stone. It speaks volumes about us going in the wrong direction.

With those things in hand, to manage to drop enough games to lose our grasp on those things means we are playing mediocre ball down the stretch.

We are a team that wins because we out-execute teams on both ends and we are disciplined in what we do. We're losing right now down the stretch means we are stumbling into the playoffs and we aren't the kind of team that just "turns it on". We need to get that rythm and we're running short on time.

I think the days have past where we can say that "we're built for the playoffs, we'll be fine" kind of mentality, esp based on our performances lately. I'm not saying we're no chance to win it all, I think when healthy we're one of the teams to beat - the question is, will we be fit enough to compete?

We need HCA for the first two rounds at least, we had to struggle in the west semi's last yr vs NO.

As it stands now, we're 3rd and we've got Portland in the opening round. Obviously things can and likely will change between now and the end of the season, but out of all the options for a 1st round opponent, the Blazers concern me the least. Being in the 2nd/3rd seed bracket means we avoid LA until the WCF (if we get that far).

I guess when Manu gets back and in form we'll really see where we're at. Hopefully TD 's health improves as well.

I'm a little worried at this point, but there's still time to turn the ship around before the playoffs.

They have about what 14 or 15 games left? It's a Spurs team full of experience vets. They know they have to get things in the direction they need to go in order to be consistant and play well for and during the playoffs.

The equalizing factor is, of course, that it's an odd year.

At least Manu's back now. Hopefully that'll take some pressure off of Tim and let him get rested/healthy.

We have played like a bucket of suck. We can't use the whole injury excuse. We flat out deserve to lose if we can't make free throws.

We better shape up, it isn't unrealistic that we might get beat by a lower seed.

At least Manu looks like he may be back after all. He sure looks good right now, moving pretty damn good. Haven't seen the rim attacks yet from him like I want, but for three games back, looks promising.

And TP is looking good too.

Only one missing from his old self is TD and that is scary.

My optimism is starting to waver. The lineups are throwing everything out of whack.
