Mystery of KG's knee ......?

Floating loose cartilage in the knee that locks up and could at any time. It seems for whatever reason no minor surgery was used to remove the floater and that's the problem. It's nothing major and say next season he will be fine but it will take luck for it not to lock up during the playoffs imo.

Waiting to find out the truth about KGs knee is like waiting to find out about PP after he went down in game 1 of the finals. All we can do is hope for the best, maybe were just playing head games with the Cavs/Magic since we pretty much know were getting #3

The source said Garnett has no structural damage, only the effects of wear and tear, though he could have a minor arthroscopic procedure after the season. "We're just going to shut him down until we feel that he's ready," said Rivers. "It's nothing structural, it's the same thing that it's been, it's just not reacting the way we thought it would react. "Just his gait, he just doesn't look right, and I'm not going to chance that." Boston Globe

Is this the most serious injury KG has ever suffered in his entire career ? I don't remember him sitting out this much ever.

Yes, Diesel, He's NEVER had any injury in his career close to this serious. he's never really missed more than 5 games due to injury in his career til this season (and last), but he was always playing at least 75 games while in 'sota.

Man, I'm surprised the man can still walk. Seems like he's been playing forever. He has a lot of mileage on those legs but still alive and kicking and dominating :D. Life's good!

Now, I'm not a Doc or anything but can this somehow get even more serious. I don't know much about knee injuries but I know guys who had small knee injuries, causing them lots of complications...and then they need to have surgery....hope this **** goes away... his injury is almost like me being injured too. LOL

Didn't he have one season in Minny that was basically lost due to a knee injury?
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

That knee has got to be scoped to get the loose floaters out so they won't get lodged...it's a minor deal but it has to be done to make sure there is no more time lost because of the floaters. 8-)

What kind of silly question is that? The league babies LeBron via the refs...he'll never get hurt! And whoever hurts him will be banned for life from the NBA!

Well, glad they finally came clean,
I was about to post a thread on loose cartilage
(to me the most obvious reason for KG's return/pull out/he's playing in the playoffs story).

I suspected this for a while, listening to the various BS they laid out there.

KG, you could have had this surgery 23 games ago,
and you would be 100% now (minus whatever cartilage was removed).
Hey, bone on bone ain't so bad, all it made me do was give up golf,
but I still skate.

Geez, this news hurts.

If you're knee locks up, it's your own damn fault, KG.

This is a pretty common operation, a lot of my friends have had it (so have I).

No. Before he went to Boston he hadn't been out with an injury since the 01-02 season. He missed 6 games in the last two seasons with Minny but they were in absolute tank-mode. I'm absolutely sure that he would've played the last games of those seasons if they were competitive.

So aside from those games when Minny tanked, he has missed 13 games in his career before arriving in Boston.

Yeah he's been a true iron man for his entire career, i just hope he can get healthy for the playoffs cause they will be able to go in and fix this problem in the off-season without too much dramas
