In contrast, Dragic or most any average defender would give them a bump or recover somehow to pester these drivers.

Second, it's a fallacy or misconception that Nash makes teammates "better". He makes them appear better on stats sheets, but actually limit the development of their COMPLETE set of skills, as with only a little one-dimentional skill you could produce already good numbers on Nash's team. You don't have incentive to work on other dimentions of your game. Even if you did, you wouldn't have chance to develop that part of your game via error and trial, given Nash's dominance of the ball. The latter is the last thing a rebuilding team needs.

:o

Long story short, I thoroughly disagree.

I totally agree with you Nash assessment, but at least with Chandler instead of Shaq we can stop the pick and roll that is killing us every night. I say since we have 0 chance making the play-offs, sit Nash and let Dragic take over on the starting point. Give him some experience and lets see what this kid can do for 30 minutes a night. At least he pesters the opposing pg instead of watching the opposing pg!

I don't get people who say that Nash dominates the ball. He always looks to pass first and shoot second.

Would you rather a "shoot first, ask questions later" PG or one that only takes the shot if nothing else is on or if his team mates are struggling?

I know I would prefer the latter.

If you noticed during games, Nash is handling the ball almost 90% of the time he's on the court. His domination of the ball was starting to become a problem when Shaq was getting less touches, but it seems now that he and Shaq have found the right balance. I now see Nash look for Shaq when the big cactus establishes good position downlow.

So let me get this straight....

Yall think it is better to keep Nash for one more year of futility...and lose him for nothing but a salary cut.... than to move him this off season for some actual value ?

Not saying we can move him, for that might be more of a challenge that our unimaginative Front Orfice can handle... but you have to consider the fact, that even by releasing him, it may result in the signing of a FA or two that otherwise would not be here.

Oh, and shudder to the thought... we may actually be as good or better losing an 'Elite' pg ??? As good as Nash is, he is no more effective than say George Gervin ... pure offense...and offense only. Take emotion out of the equation, and it is an easy move. In fact, keep emotion in, and for Nash's sake... if you really like the guy, endorse his departure.
He deserves better than what Kerr-Laid and Sarver have recently provided.

This reluctance to acknowlege the obvious...(ie..over the past couple of yrs, we have submitted our best line ups, coach included, w/Nash and did not succeed ) ... that the window has closed, will only result in another year of the same 'play off but no contender' season. This mentality, that somehow, making the playoffs is a 'GOOD YEAR" will wear you out.

Trust me.... I am 0 and 37

The thing is the Suns chemistry right now is rock solid. And it seems taht you can finally see Nash and Shaq coexist. Before Nash would make the stupidest passes to Shaq, but now you can actually see Nash giving Shaq some good looks. Trading Nash will be too much of a blow to recover for the team, I can just imagine the team losing all spirit and just folding.
