I hope he means it. Maybe he is trying to dispel some of the rumors that he wants out though.

Well sure if the Packers pay him like one of the top NFL receivers he would love to stay here for life. The same can be said about virtually every free agent to be. It would be dumb to say otherwise. I've posted here several times about Jennings not wanting to stay here. And it's true. And I've also posted that he will stay for a big contract. The question is how much is TT willing to pay?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

So, basically it comes down to money, like it does for 99% of the players in the league.

I'm curious about the reason(s) why Jennings wouldnt want to stay here (can't remember if you ever posted any specifics MD). Is it the town? The night life? The franchise itself?

No kidding. Who wants a 75 year old WR?

I posted all this before but Jennings and his wife have always wanted to live in a big city. It's not the nightlife. They both grew up in a small Michigan city and have always wanted to be in a large metro area. He has nothing against the team or organization.

Wife wants more shopping options than Green Bay/Fox Valley can provide.

Didn't his agent want Bernard Berrian money? Well then pay the man already.

Aww, poor rich wife. Hire a pilot or driver and spend the weekend in Chicago. It's not that far. But yeah, I'd certainly just give him Berrian money. Get it over with and start talking to Kampman/Collins about extensions. I will be angry if any of them hit the open market. Probably would be smart to make sure Kampman fits in the new scheme, but yeah. If we're not going to utilize free agency then TT better damn well lock up our in house talent.

They want to live in a big city? Good, earn your fortune in green bay, and when you retire at 35, live in a big city for the next 50 years.

To be honest, if I were him, I'd leave. For some people the city doesn't matter. For me it'd be a huge factor and if I had his talent and I knew I could play in NY, SF or SD it would take an astronomical amount to keep me in GB.

It all depends on the person/family. I live in a suburb of Green Bay and I like it, but its not a big city and doesn't offer glitz that alot of people want. If these guys want the nightlife, this is not your place. Its full of bars, but they're taverns not many clubs, even when you toss in the Valley. Personally the players are only here mid-July through January - and a weekend or two outside of those months. So I go live in your city of choice outside of that. Obviously people take offense to when others 'diss' their city that they live. I mean Milwaukee gets blasted all of the time, Wisconsin in general, and we all take offense. Its no different than Detroit, Cleveland, etc. They all take shots, and their residents get fired up. If you're into just football, I can't see how Green Bay wouldn't be a place you'd want to be. You're a god around here and the facilities, tradition, etc are great. If you want big city, well then its not your place probably. The weather is another downfall. If Green Bay had San Diego's weather, it would be more desirable.
