1. M. Crabtree
2. J. Maclin

3 - 6
K. Britt
H. Nicks
D. Heyward Bey
P. Harvin

7 - 9
D. Williams
B. Robiskie
L. Murphy

I'm hoping we sign T. Holt or move up higher in rd 2 to draft a Top 6 WR !!

Thoughts ??

I think you're right that we're looking at that range (7-9) of receivers in Rd2. REALLY doubt we move up as we need the picks we have. In fact, we're an extremely good candidate to slide down even more to get more picks unless one of Nicks, DHB, Britt, or Harvin slides. If they're off the board, we could easily move down and still end up with a WR with some size like Louis Murphy, Ramses Barden, or Mohamed Massaquoi.

I'm really hoping there is a run on OT's in the 1st round and Boldin gets traded to the Giants or Miami so Nicks or Britt has a better chance to drop into the top of the 2nd round - pushing more WR down to us at #49

That wouldn't be a bad idea. Cliff Levingston likes the idea of Ramses Barden who's just huge.

Kenny Britt, thats my guy.

Pretty much what I typed in the other thread. Hard nosed, pure football player, played the role we need out of him, played with a speedster (Hester).

Bears giving up on DHB, still hoping Britt might slip. Doubtful.

Bears no longer checking out top wide receivers?

The Bears have a private workout scheduled for next week with Rutgers wide receiver Kenny Britt. It's unknown if that will still take place after the team dealt away its first-round draft pick Thursday in a package to land quarterback Jay Cutler.

One workout has been nixed. Wide receivers coach Darryl Drake was going to make another stop on the East Coast next week to work out Maryland wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey. A league source said that workout has been canceled because the Bears will not be in position to select Heyward-Bey.

We do know of one workout next week. Drake is headed to Georgia to get a closer look at wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi. Drake is a former assistant at Georgia.

Britt is expected to be drafted in the second half of the first round or perhaps slide into the second round. With that in mind, maybe the Bears will continue to gather information on him.

Since we have been discussing a few potential free agents with size( Matt Jones 6'6 and Buress 6'5) as possible pick-ups..... Chewie mentioned an interesting prospect ( Ramses Barden 6'6 ) that could be a find in the draft.

http://walterfootball.com/draft2009WR.php

Ramses Barden, Cal Poly-SLO
Height: 6-6. Weight: 227.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.
Combine 40 Time: 4.57.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.51.
Vertical: . Broad: 10-2.
Projected Round (2009): 3-4.
3/22/09: Ramses Barden worked out extremely well at his Pro Day, running an unofficial 4.4. He improved his stock after a mediocre Combine. 1/4/09: Thanks to his impressive side, Ramses Barden had 67 receptions, 1,257 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior.

10/19/08: The only Mustang of note, Ramses Barden has at least 131 yards and a touchdown in every game this season.

5/22/08: And I thought a 42-catch, 824-yard campaign was impressive. Ramses Barden smashed his 2006 numbers, collecting 57 receptions, 1,467 yards and 18 touchdowns last year. I don't care where you play - that's downright impressive.

A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."

He has pretty good speed in the open field as well !

He is all of 6'6....he could be a young Plaxico !
