i Originally posted this in the "Time to cut ties with Nash" thread, but think it kinda belongs here. This is what i think we should try to do this off-season.

Nash needs to go. Yes he was good a couple years ago, and yes he didnt play defense then either, but he never had a problem with turnovers till recently. He's ageing, his back is jacked, those amazing Nash passes arnt there anymore, he just gets them stolen now. He kinda has to shoot now because he keeps turning the ball over with bad passes. People are way off calling him "elite". What other "ELITE" point guard plays ABSOLUTELY no D, makes bad passes, and cant take it to the hoop (he starts to, but then just pulls up for a jumper)? NONE! I just cant stand it when i see nash guarding a guy at the 3 point line and he just stands there watching his man pull up and shoot the ball. He doesn't Jump up, or even try to put a hand in the face, he just stands there watching the ball go over his head and into the bucket. At least when Dragic is out there, he trys to pester the ball handler. Seems like to me, we usually go on scoring runs when Nash is on the bench. Not to mention Nash and Shaq just cant co-exist! Defenders arnt afraid of Nash anymore. They know he's not going to take it to the hole. They know he's either going to A. Pass the ball, B. Pass the ball, or C. Pull up jumper. At least with Shaq running the offense , like when Nash was out for those two games, Teams are forced to double or triple team Shaq when he has the ball down low, thus creating a open man for the shot. Something needs to change, so i say time for a re-build. Trade Nash to NY for Duhon or Nate and Wilson Chandler. Make another trade with the Hornets, Shaq for Tyson Chandler and Posey. N.O was going to trade him for Joe Smith because of finances, so Shaq would give them a quality player for the Playoffs next year, an expiring contract, and the extra $$$ the fans would pay to see The Big Crawfish (he needs a new name every time he is traded!). Then we use the draft to select a back up PG and trade our 2 2nd round picks for another 1st rounder.
Keep STAT. Keep Richardson. Keep everyone but Nash and Shaq.

New Line-up will be
PG - Nate Robinson/Dragic/Lawson or Jennings
SG - Richardson/Barbosa/Tucker
SF - Hill/Barnes/W.Chandler
PF - Stat/Swift/Posey
C - T.Chandler/Amundson/Fropez

I can think of Milwaukee. Richardson for Linour, Alexander, Elson and 09 1st in a shallow draft.

PG - Sessions / Bell
SG -Richardson / Redd
SF - Jefferson / Ricahrdson
PF - Villanueva / Mbah A Moute
C - Bogut / Gadzuric

Make sense one way or another. They get to rebuild in 2011 instead with Redd's, Richardson, Jefferson and Gadzuric's contracts expiring all at the same time.

I'd do it, but Sarver wouldn't. Baron has 5 years left, Rich only has 3...

Still, can you imagine

Nash/Baron
LB/Dragic
Hill/Barnes
Amare/Swift
Shaq/Amundson

That would be awesome.

Richardson for Davis straight up. O'Neal for Chandler & Posey. Lopez for Williams. Sign Artest to MLE. Let Barnes walk for more $.

PG - Nash/Davis
SG - Barbosa/Dragic
SF - Hill/Posey/Dudley
PF - Stoudemire/Artest/Swift
C - Chandler/Amundson/Williams

Call it "5 Seconds or Less"... FSOL...

Some bad trade ideas. You guys make kerr look like a basketball genius!

Green is a solid young player. He is tough, can play D and hit the 3 (40%) and create his own shot. Gotta watch him tastic, very good tough player that this team needs.
