The team is Pretty Damn Good......

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Sat Apr 4, 2009 2:45 am

With the rash of injuries we've had this year.....major ones that still we're getting over...subtract how many games you personally think we got screwed out of (1 to 19).....we have only lost 19 games. That's damn good....my hats off to the Coaching staff ...and Ainge and Company and the Players for keeping it together. It all seems we might get a break and everything come together at the right time this year again. They all hung tight ...... 8-)

I fourth this motion and pass it into law. This team is good and having a great season, under appreciated by some around here.

People look at this team statistically...yeah we are not as good as last year, record wise and stats wise. But if you take a good look at this years squad, and see the heart that these guys are playing with despite all the injuries, and all the BS calls we been stabbed with all season long, and you have to appreciate how we have only lost 3 more games than a 100% healthy team all of last season.

If you have been paying attention and you're a student of the game, you have to say that except for injuries, this year's team is better than last years team.

It shouldn't be a surprise, considering the overhaul of personnel we made entering last year, it's only common sense to say that we should be better this year than last. It usually takes more than one season for a team with 4 new starters out of 5 to challenge the elite teams in the league for a championship. The fact that we won it all last year was incredible, but this is the year we should be hitting our stride.

Rondo has been much better than last year. He has become much more consistent, especially on the road. He's still hesistant to take the jumper, but he is getting better with each game.

We have actually put in some plays for Ray in the offense this year, and he's shooting nearly 50/40/90. We have watched BBD and Powe grow up, become more consistent, and give the opposition some serious headaches inside. (I think these guys helped expose Cleveland's weak interior defense the last time we played them.) Perk has been great, and PP has been well, PP.

We have had a target on our chests all year long. Teams have been bringing their A game night in and night out to see how they measure up to the champs. Every team we have played this year has made an Event out of playing the World Champs on their home court.

Considering the injuries we have had this year, our record is a testament to how good we really are. If we get KG back and a somewhat healthy lineup in the playoffs, #18 is ours.

Also, I second this post and pass it into law. :)

Tommy brings it up regularly that the way this team never gives up is a reflection of Doc Rivers coaching, and I couldn't agree more. Even when PP was out 2 years ago and we had that horrific losing streak the young players never stopped playing hard IMO, and that is a testament to Doc. How some people around here can crawl up his ass whenever things get a bit rough is beyond me, the team loves him and play their hearts out for him no matter what, and you can see he is a coach that honestly cares about the guys playing under him. It's a great time to be a C's fan overall, the effort is there, the talent is there, we are on pace to win 60 games for a second year in a row, and some people on this board are ready to jump ship at any sign of trouble, proclaiming "we are done." I'm not naming any names, but it's easy to spot them because if we win the ring again they'll fade into the woodwork until next fall, much like last year. If we should lose they'll be the ones cluttering the boards with threads criticizing everything from Doc's rotations to the toilet paper Danny Ainge uses to wipe his ass.

C's haven't lost much. But what has Cleveland gained with Mo Williams? That will be the question.. Plus I think the league feels that this is Cleveland's "year." It will be a HUGE upset if we beat them. IMHO bigger then that Pats upset of the Rams in 2001.. No one gives us much chance right now.

Same as LA last year. People are underestimating the KG factor. If he is healthy, the Celtics will beat Cleveland. If not, the Cs still have a chance, however greatly reduced.

even the Heisler dude (who I dislike) from the LA Times gave us props in the Sunday Times. labeled us the toughest team in the league, what with KG out, winning 8 out of last 9 with a 2-point heart-breakin loss @ Orl.

Exactly. And if we can take LeBron out of the gameplan like we did last year, we have a great shot.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
