Overall:
1. Cleveland--just look at their record now (with Lebron having only Williams, Wallace and Illgauskas to help him), and imagine what it would be like if you added Jermaine O'neal and Raja Bell, then replaced Williams and Illgauskes with Bibby and Shaq.

2. Phoenix--love everything about what they did with this team. Anthony, Conley, and Teague will be a great trio in the future, but there are also guys like Gerald Wallace, Kellenna Azubuiki, Carlos Boozer, and Emeka Okafor to help out.

3. LA Lakers--This is about the only team in the game that I can imagine having a shot at beating Cleveland THIS YEAR. Kidd--Bryant--Artest--Odom--Duncan are about the best starting five in basketball.

4. Oklahoma City--Did a really great job of balancing young players with older veterans. Westbrook, Durant, Marion, and R. Wallace will take this team deep in the playoffs and get the younger guys some great experience.

5. Washington--This is another one of those teams that did really well with their rebuilding process. I like the additions of Prince, Bogut, Parker and Harden the most, but there are many other players on this team that really stand out.

6. Dallas--This is the first full total-rebuild team on this list, but certainly not the last. I love what they were able to do by pairing up Derek Rose and Eric Gordon. There are also a lot of other great young players on this team like Courtney Lee, and Blatche.

7. Indiana--I think that this team saw one of the more drastic improvements in the game. Bosh and Granger are two guys that could easily combine for 50 a game, but there are also a lot of good role players to help out.

8. New York--Made a huge transformation for the future of their team. Dumping all their bad contracts while adding some good young players was fantastic. Griffin--Felton--Chandler--Rush is a great core.

9. Portland--Made some pretty major trades that really altered how well they will do in the short term. Nash, Barbosa, and Jefferson will help this team immensily.

10. Detroit--Did a really nice job adding some young players, but they still need to get a star to go along with them. Overall this is still a really nice team though.

11. Golden State--Nene, Stoudamire, Ariza, Brewer, and Ellis are a far cry from what they started out with. This team was one of the better examples of making the best out of what you have--which in this case was mainly old wing players.

12. New Jersey--I like what this team did a lot by adding Martell Webster, Demar Derozan, and Jeff Green to their already young core.

13. Orlando--Miller and Butler were great pickups, but I am not sure if they make this team any better than it was before, especially considering the new bench.

14. Charlotte--Has one surefire star on their team, and a lot of young guys that are sure to have some sort of impact on the future. Unfortunantly, though they picked up two guys who appear to be busts, Joe Alexander and Corey Brewer, both of whom will be heavily relied upon.

15. Philadelphia--Brand and Kaman are a great duo down low, and I really like the additions of Redd and Nelson, however, I feel that this team was better off when they had Biendrins, Igoudala, Hibert, and Williams.

Improving for the Present

WEST
1. Los Angeles Lakers - They have a stacked lineup with solid role players. You could argue that Duncan, Kobe, and Kidd are all top 5 players all-time at their position. Plus having a defensive stalwart like Artest and a nice player in Odom who will do what he's asked makes this team the team to beat next year
2. Portland - They did trade away a little bit of their future, but there is no question that RJ, Nash, and a few of their bench players like Barbosa will help them win now. They will be one of the top teams in the coming years
3. Oklahoma City - Adding BG, Marion, and Rasheed to Westbrook and Durant makes them a solid playoff team IMO.
4. Golden State - They got their star player in Amare; and they also got some very good complimentary pieces to play with him like Ariza and Nene; and they kept Ellis who could end up being a star especially next to Amare
5. Denver - When we started the game, the nuggets were going nowhere (they hadn't acquired Billups yet); the Denver GM moved Melo, but was able to acquire a starting 5 of borderline allstar players and a few solid players on the bench to make them a very competitive team.
6. Houston - They definitely improved their starting 5; a frontcourt with Dirk and Gasol is formidable. Also, with a frontcourt like that VC would be able to shine; and they have a couple of very capable PG and SF starters in Hinrich and Nocioni
7. Los Angeles Clippers - They moved some of their players who were underachieving for players who I think would fit their system better.
8. Utah Jazz - It's difficult to put them up here; but I feel that he made the right decision with Boozer; and Rip would be a great fit in Utah. I think they are a better team in 2009-2010 than in 2008-2009; and I do not think that will happen in the real world.

EAST
1. Orlando - They added Caron Butler to their starting lineup which is a huge addition, a. miller may be a better PG for their team than nelson, also their bench is a lot deeper than it was to begin with; they have a talented and deep team.
2. Cleveland - They've surrounded Lebron with some talent for the upcoming season
3. Indiana - A Bosh, Granger lineup would be very good. Plus they have a decent supporting cast around those 2.
4. Atlanta - Their starting lineup is arguably better than what they have now; but the big difference is their bench which I feel is very deep.
5. Washington - They have a well balanced team who would definitely do better than the current Washington team.
6. Miami - Downgrading from Wade to Johnson is not the best scenario, but Johnson is an all-star caliber player; but adding all-stars like Yao and Billups makes this a dangerous team to play against.
7. Chicago - Adding Wade is a big difference for them.
8. Philly - I think that they have a more rounded team that should be able to compete in the east

Improving for the future
1. Dallas - They have a bunch of young studs and should be very solid in a couple of years
2. Memphis - They added the right pieces IMO to the team that they had before and should be a solid team.
3. Minnesota - I like the future for this team quite a bit. I think Henderson is a perfect fit, and Deng will be a really good fit as well.
4. Sacramento - Added more young players to their team.
5. Golden State - Would be higher if Amare was guaranteed to stay, but if he does; I think they will have a playoff team for the next 5 years.
6. Phoenix - They were old and a borderline playoff team; now they are a lot younger and I think they would have a better chance to make the playoffs as well.
7. Oklahoma City - Added some young players to their team; and they also added a few veterans to help their young players out.
8. Utah - They have a nice rounded team; and they brought in a few more younger players to help them transition into the future

EAST
1. Detroit - They will have lots of cap room and they added young studs like Bynum, Rudy, and Young to go with Stuckey; and they drafted Hill; that's a future starting lineup for them
2. Washington - They started with lots of future salary to either old, not that good, or injured players. They got back a good young PG, a SF who is only a slight downgrade from Butler, and a very good young C; they also have IMO the best 6th man in the league and a bench full of young players who have potential.
3. New York - They have a young team, plus they were able to get some capspace.
4. New Jersey - They continued to add young talent to their team.
5. Toronto - They have a well-balanced team; and they made sure that they would have a stud at PF for sure in 2010-2011.
6. Milwaukee - They were able to cut a lot of salary and give their team something to work with.
7. Philly - They acquired some players that can be helpful for quite awhile together.
8. Indiana - They paired Bosh and Granger; it would be higher if they knew Bosh would stay.

Scoring System (subject to change, if there are any suggestions e-mail them to me)
-A team will lose 2 points if they did not do their write-up so if they were going to earn 5 points then it would only be worth 3 (that's in addition to a lot of teams not including them in the voting as well, but if you have time to go back and look at the other teams roster you can and you can use their rosters to judge them accoringly, you don't have to include them if you don't want to)
-Also, if you submit votes for a criteria then your team will earn max possible points for that certain area; it is only fair so that teams won't get penalized for voting (a quick example as to why this will occur, lets say only 4 votes were submitted; Team A was in 2nd place in 3 of the ballots and he submitted one of the ballots 3 x 13 points = 39 points; Team B was in 3rd place in 4 ballots and didn't submit a ballot 4 x 10 = 40 points; thus Team B would be ahead of Team A even though Team A was ahead of Team B in each ballot; so Team A had been penalized because he voted. By giving Team A max points for his ballot that he submitted, he would be ahead of Team B and he wouldn't lose out on points.

Well to be honest, I started out with a pretty beast team anyways. Adding Brandon Roy and Michael Beasley to the Pacers (while keeping Danny Granger)?!?! Hats off to you man.
