My big prediction in 2007

Post#1 » by ssssssnake » Fri Sep 7, 2007 9:59 pm

My big prediction going into 2006 was the Bears going to the superbowl. It looks obvious now, but everyone and their mother was calling me crazy and wanting to bet me on it.

Anyway, here we are coming into 2007. It feels like a good time for a prediction. This years prediction is that the 07 Packers are a fourth quarter team. Why?

1st, they have a very deep defensive line that should not be worn down in the 4th quarter. They should still be forcing 3 and outs when defenses are supposed to be loosened up.

2nd, they have an Oline that might not be big brauler types, but they are more fit than the typical fat guy up front. They should be stronger, longer in games while Dlines are typically warn down.

Our defense will keep their defense on the field more than usual at the end of the game so they will get tired out. Our physically fit Olineman will take advantage of their tired Dlineman. It will be a good cycle, each part feeding off the other. In the end, we will walk away, winning more games in the 4th quarter than any team in the NFL. If we're not #1, we'll be in the top 5 in this category.

There is the 2007 prediction. Bank on it :P

astute evaluation. Solid premise.

Makes sense we'll be good in 4th quarter - better than opponent.

Great provided our defense was strong first three quarters and didn't give up any long scoring strikes due to blown coverages by Ss or nickel AND offense did not give opponents defense opportunity to score by throwing interceptions and we aren't down 17 pts + by the time 4th quarter comes.

There is one 4th quarter victory for us. Our defense certainly held it's own in the 4th quarter. I think they had one 1st down.

My big prediction is that the Bears are going to be back to their "one and done" come post-season time. I realize they are playing a very good Chargers team, but damn their offense just might be worse than ours.

Being a slimmer offensive line won't help anything if they don't start opening some holes and/or the backs show more ability to create yards on their own.I love the game McCarthy called today, but we may not face another team with a worse linebacker core than than the Giants had.Our running game ended up being quick dump passes because the Giants linebackers couldn't cover a guy in a wheelchair.

Let's see what happens when we face teams with much better linebackers that take away some of that short passing game and if our running game is still going nowhere. That's a horrible defense we played against today and they still stuffed our running game.If their linebackers weren't so god awful in coverage,it would have been a different game.

I'm very curious to see how the Chargers defense our offense.I expect something closer to the Eagles game, especially if we can't run the ball again.
