We can score true. But that doesn't mean how offense is in any way good. We don't pass well at all. Alot of the time players take quick shots, or try and create for themselves instead of their teamates. Not only does this not give us a consistent offensive scheme but it hurts our defense.

Right now, we give up 109 ppg. If we cut down on the bad shots, the bad turnovers, & improved the offense we could probably shave off ten off those 109 ppg, just by doing that alone. IMO.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

I just feel like we need to stop approaching it with that attitude of "if we just improve our offense, we'll improve our defense!" We've been approaching with that attitude for years, and this whole time we've been mostly above average offensively and we haven't been close to average defensively--at least not since we were a true contender. Sure this team needs help offensively in many respects, but we're doing fine right now despite a lack of great organization--just on talent alone. And that's not considering that a Rubio or Griffin might be coming our way in the draft.

I'm just saying that I would prefer a defensive coach. Smills, you make valid points as to the concerns about Thibodeau. I would be willing to take the risks, but if Geoff isn't (and of course, he knows better than me, or any of us), I would prefer JVG to Jordan. I know that wouldn't be Geoff's likely decision, but that's what I would prefer.

We won't pick a defensive coach like Van Gundy a la the Mus failure. We need a balanced coach. Eddie Jordan is a very balanced coach. He gets good scoring and rebounding out of his bigs and plays in a fast paced offense at Washington.

Avery Johson played in a similar structured 2 big man game in his playing days with San Antonio and he got the most from his big guys both were 20/10 guys like our Princeton. He played good offense and defense when he played and his team at Dallas was really balanced and played a fast paced offense and tough defense. Was Avery as good as Don Nelson? No Don has about 30 years of experience but he did well. Avery is definitely not stuck to any system and would be flexible with our offense.

Saunders is a vet coach and could be intrigued as well and has balanced teams as well. I think with the economy slowing there will be a slowdown of coach pay.

I just think that even without getting the luck of the #1 and just getting a stud PG our team is as enticing as any other young core.

It looks like it;s gonna be Jordan, although I would've really liked JVG or Thibodeaux.

Muss didn't fail because he was a defensive coach. He failed because he was a little tool, and the players tuned him out pretty quickly.

And Jordan is very far from a balanced coach.

I actually liked something cdt said. A balanced coach. Get assistants for the offense and defenses respectively. I want a guy that leads, and unifies the team successfully. He'll motivate each game and make proper decisions with match-ups and rotations. The schemes can come from the assistants. I want a BALANCED Head Coach, not a 'offensive' guy or 'defensive' guy. I'm cool with Eddie Jordan honestly.
