Will the Hawks Collapse again?

Post#1 » by Gutz » Mon Apr 6, 2009 9:08 pm

Well here we are again only 2 games up on the Heat and 2 1/2 up on the sixers. We still have to play the Heat as well. Can we step up and secure homecourt or will this dumb team choke again? Last year we got lucky and backed our way in the to the playoffs but i don't think we can do that this year into the 4th seed.

I am not very confident, but I have to beleive that the Hawks will find a way to keep this spot, I think Woody and them realizes that they need homecourt more than any team in the league.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

What do you mean by "again?" When was the last time we collapsed?

I think we'll hold onto the fourth seed. The schedule is a lot easier from here on out.

I think the collapse he refers to was the end of last season when the Hawks lost 4 of their last 5 never securing the one last victory needed to clinch a playoff berth. The berth was clinched on a loss I think and the regular season was punctuated with the Hawks playing starters for the whole game against Miami's scrubs and losing. No one had any reason for optimism heading into the playoffs considering that finish.

I think we hold on, but I'd like to see the guys take care of business and dispatch some non-playoffs teams on the road to build momentum rather than rely on Miami and Philadelphia to drop enough games.

^^^I think that we will hold the spot as well with the easy remaining schedule, but the Hawks won't make it certain till the last game, struggling on the road and torturing us all the way.
