would think it would be...
trade 08/09 salaries
DRAFT
Free Agency
trade 09/10 salaries
etc...
I'd lean towards something like this as well.

We would mos def need to sim the 09/10 season for draft rankings based on our new rosters though.

Using your thinking, should we use rosters from before the trade dealine? (wasn't that last game). Packing something to move Curry is what the current GM of the Knicks has to do

yes but didn't the actual NBA team do that already. The real team prepaired for the off season and now we are taking over

we have never had a damn trade deadline in this game, so trade deadline means nothing!

Like Bcortell said, I dunno 2010 contracts are now the expirings. Otherwise, we should simply start w/ rosters before the NBA trade deadline or even the season.

TMACFORMVP wrote:I'd personally prefer 08/09 contracts because it feels as there's more control heading into the 09 FA with the general idea that you pictured at the start, like had I been the Pacers GM before, I'd have probably tried to get something for my expirings rather than letting them expire, one reason I ended up choosing the Pacers.
But I understand the other side as well, as we'd take over the team in the off-season, which it's essentially right now. Not to mention it'd likely require a simulation of draft picks if one bottom dweller team were to become much better, and ALSO get Blake Griffin due to their real life record. Though depending on how long we'd have an 08/09 deadline, I doubt a team would improve that much - 3/5 day deadline perhaps? I wouldn't mind either way, let's just start the game ASAP, but my preference would lean to 08/09 trading week to shape the roster heading into the 09 Free Agency, but again, I'm fine either way.
