Skroff, I think we should be allowed to sign people to extensions, have them all run through you of course. My point is, when there is a player who is a flight risk for the '10 FA period, and I acquire him in a trade, I wouldn't want to lose him because it would be more interesting for the game, when in real life he'd resign.
Does that make any sense? Like, if we have a player, have the money to extend him, and a great future for him, and it would be a no brainer in real life, then I think we should have the option of extending them.
Heres an example, obviously hypothetical. Lets say LeBron James is traded to the Magic where he is paired with Dwight Howard. The Magic have plenty of money to extend LeBron, and he is paired with Dwight so they are basically favorites every year. I think the GM should be allowed to extend him, it would be ridiculous for LeBron to still test the FA market solely to make the game interesting when one GM has done whatever to make a team that LeBron would for sure sign with. Make sense?
