Can't hate on a guy who's shot almost 40% the last 9 weeks from 3. He's hot and the fact that he hasn't missed more than 2 attempts in any given game shows that he's using some self-control and not chucking when he doesn't have it.

oh yes, they can hate on Smith for shooting near 40 percent from 3's. They hate on him for basically everything wrong in thier lives.

the last 5 games he has avg 20 pts. 9 boards. and is 7-13 from 3 point range. Yet, everytime i click a thread. Its full of Josh Smith hate.

He had stretches last year where he made 3 pointers too. That doesn't make him a 3 pt shooter.

Smith got 2 offensive rebounds in 47 minutes last night, same as Bibby and Evans. What is wrong with this picture?

Every time Smith is standing behind the 3 pt line he is doing exactly what the other team's coach wants. When Smith is behind the 3 pt line the defense can ignore him and focus more on the other guys. Sure Smith can make some here and there. He isn't going to miss them all.

Theres no hate on him riight now, were just stating what we see. Everyone has an opinion, just a few of us think hes to comfortable shooting. Im willing to let him ride this streak out, but when he comes back down to earth will he have the control to stop shooting?
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

*yawn*

The hawks problem has never been Josh Smith. Its the two Vets Bibby and Joe Johnson who are prone to not show up for entire games.

how many games have the hawks lost before the 4th quarter has started because joe johnson started the game on a 1 for 12 shooting streak?

how many games has bibby just not showed up on either end of the floor?

These guys are the vets. yet they are the ones who cant put up consistent effort.

Poor shooting is poor shooting, not lack of effort. It isnt like more effort will make someone shoot better during games.

More effort will show up in rebounding though, where Smith averages a paltry 7.3 rebounds per game.

Bibby averages like 4 assist a game. Maybe he should try passing to an open shooter once in a while rather than jack up contested 3's.

I am not a fan of Bibby but his lack of quickness, inability to beat guys off the dribble and create for others can't be blamed on lack of effort. Perimeter shooting is his game and sometimes his shot will be off.

Smith's lack of rebounding can definitely be blamed on lack of effort.
