I like that D by Pierce on Vince Carter there at the end. Celtics had this game...the Pierce TO and the Ray Allen foul on the layup really hurt us. But wow our guys were just walkin up the court today. Only one actually running was TA, Perk and Rondo...

Rondo was great, but he gets overconfident and showboats sometimes. Like the 360 followed by the "rondo" move where he got bailed out on the foul...he needs to get it under control in those situations...

Rondo is a good player but everyone knew that already.

very disappoint to see that Paul played in this game. Rondo is Point Guard but tonight he has to step up to score more points because Paul and Ray looks like disappeared.

Great Play by Steh and Eddie, TA has some sparks too.

I think the first unit was no chemistry at all at tonight.

boy what a weak effort by pierce. we're lucky to win this game. marbury and moore played well though as did most of the bench guys. when we get leon and kg back we'll have some nice depth. it would be nice to have scal back to defend the 3 pint line against orlando

If you want to use the word "GOT" instead of get in terms of getting some favorable calls I can live with it this game. Rondo ran into Moore but the foul went to the Nets. Overall the calls favored the Celtics. Still when you are on the road and have a chance to tie or win on the last possession, that is where you want to be and there was nothing questionable in the last series.
I've watched every Celtics game and you wouldn't know this is a championship team by any pattern of favorable calls.

^^^I hear ya. We aren't even in the playoff hunt, so whatever, you guys deserve the home cooking to an extent. I wasn't talking the last series, that was just good D by you guys and crappy shot selection by us. Before that there were a couple bad non calls, like when Rondo hacked the hell out of Devin when he got the steal, the one you mentioned, when Rondo ran into Moore and there was one other one where Devin got hacked by House(House was trying to foul, you guys had the foul to give and then Devin got stripped right after).
Oh well.
Good game by both sides anyway and truthfully I was a little happy we didn't win a meaningless game and just competed instead, we need to get as high as possible into the lottery, but I am glad my team showed heart and had a legit shot at beating a very good team on their homecourt.

I was thinking the same way a couple of seasons back. Get another terrific pick like Lopez and the Nets are solidly in the playoffs. Not sure what happend with Sean Williams, but Anderson is a player too. As the Celts found out with Perkins and Rondo, the Nets will get better just with another year of experience with their young players.
The Nets have three of the hardest pieces to get in putting a high level team together. An excellent PG, a wing who can score big points late in the game, and an up and coming big man. The question will be their defensive development as they grow and only time will tell that.

I feel as currently constructed, with the addition of another solid lotto pick, that the Nets are around a 42 to 45 win team that will only get better and I can live with that.
I don't know what Thorn and Kiki are gonna do with Vince though and a lotto pick panning out is not guarenteed what so ever.
Glad to see you like Anderson, I honestly think he has a lot of Rashard Lewis to his game and would love to see him play the 3 more.
You guys didn't get to see much of CDR either, although neither have us NJ fans, lol, but he honestly looks like he will be very succesful in this league and has really impressed me in the limited minutes he gets, so hopefully Opie will let him rock next season.
I am hoping Monroe declares and he somehow slips to us.

Ok so not the laugher I predicted (it looked like it would be in the 3rd....)...still, a good game. I was impressed with NJ, they have some players.

I was also very happy with the play of Marbury, House, Moore, and Rondo...great games from those guys!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

lopez and harris are building blocks but as TOmmy correctly pointed out Harris is not a pg who creates for others. He's a score first guard and he's very good at that but he doesn't get his teammates involved as much as he should

Drawing defensive attention like Harris does makes a PGs life easier. This is why scoring PG have been and will continue to be sought after. Harris had a bad game but teams could function very well with him as PG. Tony Parker is a also a 'scoring" point and he has won championships. So was our own Tiny Archibald.

Another Nets fan sore about us getting Scalabrini. Hey, I'd be pissed, too.

Actually, the Harris foul on Perk was every bit as redic as the Rondo drive. He fell sideways while driving straight forward. Hell, I've never seen Pierce do that one!
Tanking :nonono: Live for the day 8-)
