Shut Down The Starters?

Post#1 » by The Diesel » Thu Apr 9, 2009 5:33 am

Hey guys,

Don't you agree - now that the Suns are officially out of the playoffs - that it's time to shut down Shaq, Nash, and some of the other starters for the season?

There's no point in risking a very serious injury which would make them impossible to trade this summer.

I think they should shut them down and start playing Lopez, Dragic, and Swift more often.

What do you think?

Having Nash, Shaq, & Hill is gonna make that decision pretty hard. I would say not necessary "shut them down" completely but maybe limit them to 20 min/game. I would definetely like to see Dragic, Tucker, and Stro play some good minutes. Especially Stro to see if he's worth us giving him a 1yr deal.

They should but knowing Suns management they will still have them playing over 30 minutes per game...

i know its crazy but teams do not do that ever because they want as many butts in seats as possible. they have attendance goals, concessions goals, TV rating goals..

Ricky Davis, SF DNP SORE LEFT KNEE
Zach Randolph, PF DNP SUSPENDED
Mardy Collins, PG DNP RIGHT FOOT INJURY
Al Thornton, SF DNP SPRAINED RIGHT SHOULDER

They don't do it without "legitimate" injuries anyway.

I'm sure we all remember The Matrix hurt his back reversing out of his driveway last year ROFLMAO.

HAHAHAHA GG!

They won't get shutdown. Our guys will still want to play regardless I reckon. Shaq should sit. Hill should play all 82 games, it would be a huge achievement for him and I'm sure he'll want to prove to everyone he can do it.

They'll play limited minutes since our last few games are against non-playoff teams anyway.

I'd imagine Sarver wants all the $$$ he can squeeze out of these guys before next season's probable 'fall from the sky' in terms of season ticket holders - so yeah, what Amen said

Do the older guys have incentives for games played etc? or minutes?

Playing starters = Greater probability of winning = Lower draft pick = more $$ saved
