42 for Coleman. Great game was mad at everyone just not showing up on D and then not brining the O to make up for it.

I watched every second of the game. No matter how far the Lady Terps were behind, I kept thinking they're still in the game and that they were the better team.

Vandy really outworked them and outplayed them, but to the Lady Terps credit they all got the hell out of the way and let Coleman take over. I think that was the best thing they could do, because Tolliver is NOT their best player. Not even close.

Back a couple pages ago I said I didn't think the Lady Terps would make the Final Four because I think they depend on Tolliver's jumper. Well, now, I'm thinking they've got a good shot at it because Coleman's a player they can ride.

We all wish we could have a ride on that. :)

Good point about Vanderbilt. I have a lot of respect for that team, because they have so little talent, size, athleticism and scorers, but they have more heart than any team I've ever seen. They are fundamentally sound as well - always had their hands up on defense, we constantly active, made smart passes, crisp cuts, boxed out on rebounds, and were generally scrappy.

You have to credit that to not just the players but the coach because she had them playing basketball the way it was meant to be played.

Maryland just had too much talent.....well, Coleman did.

We all wish we could have a ride on that. :)

It's halftime but the Terps were down by 17 points in the first half, then went on a huge run and have cut it to 3 going into the half.

And I'm officially in love with Marissa Coleman.

I tuned in for the 2nd half. Very impressive game.
I had not watched MD play this year. I've really begun to
better appreciate womens hoop now that my 11 year old
is playing organized ball and I try to get her to watch
the women too.

They looked all but dead when the one player picked up the T.
They couldn't have waited on their comeback much longer.
But some very, might I say even Wizards-esque, lackadaisical
defense allowed Vandy to nearly take that game.

Coleman was unbelievable.

They stayed in the zone to long in this game. Should of been up big after the first quarter if we just played a different defense.

I started following the Lady Terps closely the year they won the NCAA title. I predicted in November of that season that they'd win it all. IMO the best prediction I ever made, mens NCAA and NBA ball included. (Better than Millsap would be a stud, etc.) I saw it coming with the impact of Brenda Freise arrival, her recruiting, and her coaching. That team had it all.

This team's maximized their talent but will only go as far as Tolliver's jumper will take them. This NCAAs I just HOPE they can make the Final Four. They don't play good enough defense to win it all. I'm thinking they might go down in Sweet 16 or Elite 8, because they don't have the inside game they had with Langhorne and Harper.

Coleman's their best player IMO by far, BTW. Tolliver got ACC POY and set all kinds of records with assists and threes, and is a leader. But Coleman's just a well rounded player and IMO will be a star in the WNBA.

Lady Terps lost to a better team. I posted that above about 2 weeks ago.

I will be curious to see how good the team will be in the future. Tolliver's replaceable. Coleman's not.

What's interesting to me is that the Lady Terps ended up looking a lot like the healthy Wizards. They didn't defend all season long. The Louisville coach, who recruited Terps players as Friese' assistant, said "They will not guard you."

Watching ESPN it turns out Maryland is the first team to have consecutive #1 seeds not to make it to the Final Four.

Defense was obviously our biggest problem, but a problem that hasn't been mentioned much by the media is the lack of a consistent and credible 3rd-option scorer (it would help if this scorer was a post player like CCJ pointed out, but any scorer will do, IMO). Teams, like Louisville, can gameplan against Tolliver and Coleman and leave everyone else open or at the least, sag off.

Pretty tough watching Coleman and Tolliver take their seats on the bench. You know it was just killing them.

in my limited viewing of them I had to question whether they would
go on. It took a superhuman individual effort to win the last game. Things can
go either way after that. Obviously they went the wrong way for
the lady terps.

Mystics take Coleman at #2 in the WNBA Draft.

She'll be joining former UMD teammate (who she won the title with) in Crystal Langhorne.

Pretty cool.

Terrence Ross is a legit talent! Great pick up by Gary Williams and the staff. That kid has legit NBA tools and he doesn't seem to have a lot of "people" around him.
