Well we didn't start well but we really stepped the d up in the second half. We took away their transition..rebounded and as usual they just started missing those bad shots that were going in earlier. Artest was great tonight....he attacked. He picked his spots to shoot his jumper. He brought us back. And Yao stepped up big time in the second half. Hawes was killing him with the jumpers and Yao hung in there and just destroyed his manhood in the second half. Once Artest brought us back Yao put this game away. Wafer played well making key jumpers in the fourth to keep the Kings at arms length. Scola did a better job in the second half on both ends against Thompson. Landry was big. Just a really big second half performance.

If we win this next game I really believe we'll get the chance to choose who will play in the first round. And with 2 days off before we face the Hornets I think we could really use that to figure out how we should go about the last two games. But we have to win tonight in GS.

Yep, ever since he left, Yao's been doing fine with them.

It does a damn good job, just use the trail version (which doesn't expire) but it has less features but it still works really good.

Also turn off system restore when you attempt to clean this up, turn system restore back on later(if you use it)

We control out destiny now.

Go 3-0 and we finish 3rd.

Tonight's win means that we will NOT be facing the LA Lakers in Round 1 of the playoffs - we can't finish behind Dallas I don't think. We have 51 wins and they already have 31 losses. If they beat us on the last evening, win out, and we lose out, we have the conference record tie-breaker over them.

What is the probability of the Rockets facing these teams in Round #1?

Lakers (swept the Rockets)
Jazz (2-2 season record. Eliminated Rockets for 2 straight years from Round #1)
Spurs (2-2 season record)

Won't be facing the Lakers. We can't finish behind Dallas anymore (i.e. can't finish 8th) but need a source to confirm it.

Jazz will no doubt be looking to draw us. We can control our destiny, which is the best thing.

Doubt we'd face the Spurs in Round 1.

There's a lot of things to consider when you ask for the probabilities of Utah and SA. But all I can say is that:

P(facing the Lakers) = 0
P(facing the Jazz) > P(facing the Spurs)

I think things going to be really good if we can have the next two games in the bag, we can unintentionally lose the game to Dallas (if necessary to avoid the Jazz) since Mavs looking to move up.

Good win 51-28. As Young_Star said, Rockets had clinched the 7th seed even if Rockets lost the remaining 3 games. But the rockets are going for the 3rd or 2nd seed (if Nuggets lost to Blazers).

The good thing is Rockets' last game is on 15 Apr against the Mavs while Jazz will play their last game on 14 Apr. Rockets will have the initiative even if Jazz beat Laker (if laker had no chance to catch Cavs and plays their scrubs). The key is winning the game vs GS and Hornets and see what develops. Winning these 2 games will ensure Rockets get at least the 4th seed regardless of the outcome of other games.

By avoiding the Jazz, Rockets will have a chance to make it to the conference final.
Any questions?

Dream scenario clearly for us is:

- Jazz and Lakers in the same bracket
- Rockets in the other bracket

Some huge games with huge implications also take place, as discussed in the Standings Watch thread.

Big thing is to beat GS tomorrow. We control that. Where's the crappy, game-wining game thread?

Rockets will hand GS Warriors the broom.
Rockets already 3-0 against GSW.
